Two Important Updates!

First and foremost, while Squidge.org hosts the Jinjurly Podfic Archive, we do not control the domain name.  The domain name is still maintained by the original owner.  Having said that, the Jinjurly archive domain name expired – and all we can do is ask the current domain holder to renew it for us.  So we’re waiting for that.  But, in the event this type of things happened, we preemptively registered the domain name AudioFicArchive.org for us to use.  So if you are currently trying to gain access to the Jinjurly Podfic Archive, please use this domain name for the time being:

https://audioficarchive.org

Secondly, due to an influx of spam lately, I’ve made some changes to the spamassassin configuration.  There should be no negative side effects to this, so people using Squidge.org email should see a reduction in spam.  But if you notice anything odd – like you know you’re missing email – then please let us know.  You can comment here or open a support ticket by clicking here.

  1. Hi, I have a question about spam comments. I got 2 of them in the past few days, and I noticed that the 1st one (from Sep 21) has already been removed without any action from me, so I guess you’re tackling them one by one. I got the email notification for the 2nd one yesterday and it’s still in my inbox. What I want to ask is: what should I do if/when I get these kind of comments offering to create commissioned art for my published work? Do I do nothing and let you guys handle it, or is there a way to let you know and make your work easier and faster? Thank you in advance. My username on SquidgeWorld is veronyxk84, in case it’s of any help.

    1. We have processes that run in the background and let us know what’s going on with the archive – like mass comments by someone, links to Ko-Fi and such – that run every few hours. So chances are, if/when you get a spam comment, we’ll know about it soon enough. We intervene when the spammer crosses a line with the, “Can we chat on social media – I have an idea for you” status. And when they cross that line, we nuke their account and all their comments.

That said, we don’t always catch everything. So if you see a spammy comment and it’s still there a few hours later, you can contact us and we’ll deal with them. 🙂
