When Owlet offered to archive my fanfiction, I spent hours trying to come up with a name for my page. Everybody else had neat names for their pages...I wanted one for mine. But, writer that I am, I could think of nothing. I mentioned the problem to my husband, Larry, and non-writer that he is, without hesitation said, 'Lyrica's Labyrinth.' I still wasn't convinced until I did some research on labyrinths and discovered that a labyrinth is a metaphor for a journey. Unlike a maze, which has twists and turns and blind alleys, a labyrinth has only one path. The way in is the way out. With a labyrinth there is only one choice to be made--to enter or not. That seemed a pretty neat analogy.
At some unknown point, I made the choice to enter, and writing became so intrinsically a part of who I am that I know it's a journey of which I will never tire. I will always write, even if I never post another word. As a child, I wrote fanfiction, telling myself stories about television and movie characters in my head, before I knew there was a name for such a thing. Sometimes those stories slashed male characters, even before I knew there was a name for such a thing. My first published stories were Star Trek, in fanzines, many years ago. I never stopped telling myself fanfic stories in my head, but for a long time, I didn't actively write in fandom. Then I joined the Internet community and one of the first things I did was go searching for fanfic. Talk about a smorgasbord! I began writing out loud again, in X-Files fandom, and was soon drawn into The Sentinel side of the force. Along the way, the friends I've met and the infinite diversity I've encountered have made my world both larger and smaller, delightfully, all at once. And my journey continues...
Owlet has generously archived all my stories--XF and TS, slash and het--and I'm thrilled to have a home where *everything* is available. Effusive thanks to her for making my Labyrinth a reality, and thanks to you for walking its path. I hope your journey into my fiction is an interesting and enjoyable one. If it is, naturally, I'd love to hear about it. If it isn't, I'd like to hear about that, too--constructive criticism may not be as happyhappyjoyjoy as an egostroke, but it's how I learn and improve. Please send me feedback on what you think.
A small and, hopefully, unnecessary warning: Some of these stories contain depictions of unprotected sex. However, these are trained, fictional characters. Please don't try this at home! Always snap on the latex and play safe. For a more detailed warning, please visit Owlet's Standard Warning and Disclaimer
Behind The Storm We Feel A storm is brewing, Jim is feeling its effects, and Blair's bored. This is a missing scene from Storm Warning. NC-17.
The Color Of Christmas Blair's innocent question turns into an unexpected gift for Jim. This story was written in response to a question a listsib posed on Senad (What color is Santa Claus?) and was posted as a Solstice gift to all the listsibs who have given me so much pleasure throughout the year. Rated G.
Strange Crossroads Simon receives a phone call from a concerned Jim. This story is a weird little, after-the-episode snippet that popped into my mind after I'd watched Crossroads a couple dozen times. I don't pretend to know from where this characterization of Simon comes. And, yes, I do know what happens next...it's rattling around up there with all the other plot bunnies, clamoring to be set free. Rated G.
In Case Of Emergency Skinner and Scully are caught in a fire fight and things heat up. Basically a PWP and *gasp!* het sex. So sue me...I'm a Skinner slut. I'll pair him with anybody (well, okay, I promise not to do that Donald Duck thing that somebody suggested). Skinner/Scully, NC-17.
Sharp Focus Wrestling with the knowledge that she has cancer, Scully can't quite get a focus on her life. Walter Skinner helps her focus her thoughts. Drama, angst and more het sex. Skinner/Scully, NC-17.
Heat Considered As A Mode Of Motion Scully's next door neighbor in a cheap motel isn't her usual partner. It's her surly boss, and she's finding the difference a little disconcerting. This story is basically an experimental PWP and still more het sex. Skinner/Scully, NC-17.
A Routine Interrogation Mulder and Skinner conduct a routine interview that turns out to be anything but routine in its affect on them. Warning: Safe, sane and consensual bdsm. Slight bondage, mild pain, no blood. Skinner/Mulder, NC-17.
