Reality Bites - I just couldn't resist any longer. LOL Take your favourite reality or game show, (or the one you most despise) and plop your favourite fictional characters down into the middle of it. Maybe Blair pulls a "While You Were Out" fast one on Jim and redecorates the loft. Maybe Starsky & Hutch are a team in "The Amazing Race". Or Ezra Standish is starring in "The Bachelor", "Boy Meets Boy" or even "For Love or Money". There's plenty of reality shows to choose from...

"You have the right to remain silent."

Shakespeare Challenge:

Use the quote in some way, whether title, dialogue, theme, etc:

--As You Like It (II, iv, 53-56)

Famous Quotations:

"For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul."
--Judy Garland

Ripped From the Headlines Challenge:

Use the following news item as a basis to build a fic around...

Canada to Allow Same-Sex Marriage

RANDOM CHALLENGES:

Moving Day -

it's a big day. Are the boxes packed? Arrangements made? Your character is moving. Is it to a new city? A new apartment? Are they moving in with someone, or moving out? Will it be an ending or a new beginning? Or both?

Hitchhikers -

picture this... your character is driving alone down a deserted road, the rain is coming down in sheets, thunder rolls, lightning strikes, illuminating a hunched figure standing drenched and miserable by the side of the road, desperate for a ride... you know he's gotta stop and pick 'em up. Then what?

Triangle Present -

your character goes from famine to feast. After days/weeks/months/years of no serious relationships, out of the blue at least 2, possibly more, sincerely interested parties begin to woo them.

The Doublemint Challenge - take your favourite fandom character and give them an identical twin. Jim has a hard enough time with one... how would he handle two Blairs in his life. ;) So, it can be a soap opera clichéd evil twin, or a separated at birth and just recently found each other twin, or even a been inseparable all their lives twin... whatever works for your story. I figure if one Ezra is fun, two should be all that much better. ;)

"For thy sweet love remember'd such wealth brings

Pointy High-Heels Give Vandal Away

RANDOM CHALLENGES:

Hawaiian Holiday -

time for a fun-filled, romantic vacation in paradise... at least it will start out that way. Where it goes from there is up to you.

Family Time -

One of the omissions often found in fandoms, especially the shorter-lived ones, is a lack of backstory or family history for some of our favourite characters. So...introduce us to a family member that we've never met before... a sibling, a parent or grandparent, an aunt, a cousin, maybe even a son or daughter they never knew they had.

Beat the Heat -

time for some innocent (or not-so-innocent) fun. How will your characters find a way to cool off? Super-soakers? Water balloons? Dunking in the pool? Cavorting in a fountain? Running under a sprinkler? Skinny-dipping under the moon? Ice cubes? Ice cream? You name it, they do it. ;)

A Hard Habit to Break -

"Your net worth to the world is usually determined by what remains after your bad habits are subtracted from your good ones." --Benjamen Franklin
What is your character willing to endure when it comes to the bad habits of his/her partner? What are they not willing to endure? And will there be a straw that breaks the camel's back?

Oops -

Your characters' relationship is publicly outed by one of them, either after being in an accident where they aren't thinking straight, or because they are drugged or drunk, intentionally or not. Extra points for exposure through a kiss or other intimate contact. ;) How will they deal with the fallout?

Can't Fight This Feeling Anymore -

For whatever reason, your character has been struggling with and suppressing their feelings for another. Now, suddenly, something's changed. What is it? How will their realisation change things? Or will it?

So, if anytime is an appropriate time to propose a deathfic challenge, Halloween is it....
