Things that, people who

Things that. People who.

Don't follow up the word "people" with "that," as in "people that wear blue sweaters." It's "people who wear blue sweaters." By the same token, things don't "who," as in "things who go outside."

Correct:

"I don't understand people who do this."

Incorrect:

"I don't understand people that do this."

Pretty simple, huh?

"who" is used only with people "which" is used only with things and "that" can be used with people and things.
