Note: John Primrose Stronach was known by the nickname of "Doc". There was a Dr. Primrose who served the Wilmot Township area about the time of J.P.'s birth, so one might assume that he was named for Dr. Primrose. J.P.'s son, Ross Landers Stronach may have been named for well liked neighbours, as his mother, Ruth (Harris) Stronach, mentions a "Landers field" near the cliff, in her diary.
