REV. EBENEZER STRONACH

Rev. Ebenezer Stronach was born 4 October 1792 in the Wilmot Township, son of George Stronach and Mary Fales. He was educated at home by his father and received the rudiments of an English education. He was baptized by Thomas Handley Chipman, but for a number of years did not take an active part in the church. He joined the Baptist Church in Aylesford when it was formed on 5 March 1820 and was a Deacon of this church just over a year later. He obtained a licence to preach in February 1831, and was ordained as an Evangelist on 23 May 1833. He visited numerous places in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick as part of his duties. He married Amy Randall, daughter of David Randall, and raised a family of eight children. He died at the age 66 years, on 23 November 1858, and was laid to rest in the Wiswall Cemetery in Wilmot, Nova Scotia.
