"It Was a Sith Thing to Do."

In Which Yoda and Mace are tricked into accepting new Padawans to keep the two masters "occupied" .

It was a rotten thing for the wife of one Jedi to do to two other Jedi, but really, Mace and Yoda were really being annoying. I decided the two Masters needed really good reasons to mind their own business, figured out how to do that, and acted on it one afternoon while my husband and son of five months were sparring in another area of the Temple. I had been volunteering in the Cre`che, and there was a set of twin girls in there, new to the Temple, and very, very strong in the Force. They were also too young to be taught how to control it, and so wielded it without them. The fact that they were too dangerous to go without Masters of their own just made my plans
useful as well as entertaining.

I summoned Mace and Yoda, specifically, on an emergency basis from the Council Chamber one afternoon when the girls were tossing their teachers all over the room. The young ones (I refuse to refer to infant Wookies as little!) weren't even six months old. I "cushioned" the walls, floor and ceiling so the teachers remained unharmed, and waited.

The ten minutes following the two Masters intervention was funny as hell. I knew full well that these were the first minds that the baby Wookies had ever fully contacted since the Cre`che workers didn't risk a full Touch since it could lead to an early Bond with the kids. Only a fully shielded and very experience Force teacher would do that, and not until the children were fully capable of vocalizing. Unless it was an emergency.

Clearly, this was an emergency, although, normally Masters who were on the Roster to receive new padawans would have been summoned. I grinned at the sight of Yoda deftly controlling one infant while Mace handled the other. Soon enough the teachers were safely on the ground.

Only then did the two experienced Master Jedi notice the brand new, and solidly set new Bonds. Yoda groaned. Mace actually squawked and then had to pick up the baby he'd accidentally Bonded to and soothe it. No way would infants survive severing such Bonds, and both beings
knew it.

Yoda sighed and Force Lifted the other Wookie, levitating her toward his quarters while Mace grunted under his new padawan, finally using a small Force lift of his own to help with her weight. Even at this age, Wookies were solid and heavy. A nefarious odor assaulted the Masters as they left, and I sent a diaper bag floating along behind each of them.

Yoda paused, turned his head slightly to look at me. "On purpose, this you did."

"Yup."

Mace growled, "Sith! Master Yoda can handle the demands of a padawan, and those of the Council, I can't. That's why I haven't taken a padawan in years! I have to resign my Council seat!"

Mischief needs idle hands, after all. And Mischief to the Darkside leads. Really, I'm doing you both a big favor, by saving you from yourselves." I smirked at them. "Masters who have Training Bonds with six-month-old Wookies will not have idle hands!"

"Masters to infant Wookies, quarters will not have." Yoda sighed. "In Council, will she be. Be so, it must." He paused. "Find new Councilor to fill empty seat , we must. Dangerous, you are."

"This was such a SITH thing to do!" Mace snarled, then had to soothe and calm his new Wookie again.

"Defending my husband, made necessary." I drawled back as the two Masters departed. "Your own fault, is."
