PAIRING: Benson/Fin

RATING: PG for imaginary smoochies

ARCHIVE: WWOMB and THE DOGHOUSE (http://www.angelfire.com/rebellion/thedoghouse), everyone else just let me know so I can gloat

DISCLAIMERS: Dick Wolf and co. own these hep cats, I'm just tugging at their heartstrings for nonprofit sappy angst.

WARNINGS: romantic angsty sap, the next installment of the LANGUAGE OF DANCE series, written for Peja's opening line challenge, SO close to my first drabble but the damn muses wouldn't shut up once I got going, *grin*

SUMMARY: Dreams of that special someone disturb our hero's rest, and a conversation with a trusted friend ensues...or IS it our noble friend that's felt the sting of Cupid's arrow?

For Dana, who will get her Stabler-in-jeans moment soon if I don't get anymore of these little gems, *grin*, and for Peja, whose challenge got my pen moving once again

"I had the dream again last night."

He looked up from his paperwork, frowning slightly at his partner in mild curiosity. "Huh?"

"The dream I told you about the other day? I had it again last night."

He sighed, setting his pen aside. "You wanna talk about it?"

"There's not much to say...we're together at my place, we're talking...then that kiss."

"It mean anything?"

"What, the kiss? It's incredible...just like always. Just..."

He smiled. "You don't think it'll ever happen for real."

"I just…I don't KNOW."

"Have you two talked?"

"A little...I'd like to think it's a little harmless flirting, but when we're together...It's like the rest of the world doesn't exist."

"That a fact? Sounds like love to me."

"Love? You think?"

"Anything's possible."

Detective Olivia Benson stole a glance across the room at Odafin Tutuola, bent over a case file, dark eyes rapt with concentration.

She sighed wistfully, feeling that same sweet ache the sight of him had been eliciting for a while now. Turning back to Elliot, she shook her head slightly. "I don't know, Ell…I just don't know."

As Olivia returned to the paperwork before her, Elliot glanced up briefly, catching sight of Fin's head rising, eyes flickering over to Olivia just for a moment, something warm passing through his expression before he looked away again.

Elliot smiled, returning to his own pile of paperwork. He knew that look....boy, did he know that look.

//Anything's possible.// he chuckled inwardly as he picked up his pen once more.
