I was born in the summer of my 27th year,
Comin' home to a place I'd never been before,
I left yesterday behind me, you might say I was born again,
You might say I found the key for every door.
When I first came to the mountains, my life was far away,
On the road, hanging by a song.
But the string's already broken and I didn't really care,
I was changin' fast, and it didn't last for long,

With the Rainier, Cascade Mountain High,v I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky,
The shadows from the starlight,
Are softer than a lull-a-byeeeee...

I've climbed cathedral mountains, I Saw silver clouds below,
I Saw everything as far as I could See,
And "they" that I got crazy once and tried to touch the sun.
And I lost a friend but kept the memory.
Now I walk in quiet solitude with the forest and the streams,
Seeking grace in every step I take.
My Sight is turned inside myself to try and understand,
The serenity of a clear, blue mountain lake.
