His Master's Voice

Disclaimer: No copyright infringement intended. I don't own the canon characters or concept; I do own this story. Yes, this is a canned disclaimer, why do you ask?
Summary: Just something short and cute. No, not Blair. Well, yes, Blair is *in* the story... oh nevermind, just read it already!
Warning: Written at 11pm without my glasses. (That's worse than no beta.) Where can I go to get a muse who's on the same sleep schedule I'm on???
Note: Those of you who were upset by 'A Symbol of Loss' can pretend that this is an outtake from a sequel. It isn't really, but that shouldn't stop you from pretending. Blame Boo for trying to bribe my muse...

"Jim? JIM??" Blair shook the larger man's shoulder insistently.
"What?" Jim shook himself awake for the dozenth time that night. "I'm listening, go on."
"You were *not* listening, you were zoned. Or staring. But definately *not* listening." Blair glared at Jim.
"Yeah, well, do something about your voice then. It's just too damn soothing."
Blair snorted. "Believe me, I'd *love* to do something about it. And if you'd listen for a minute, maybe you could help me!"
But it was too late. Jim was once again zoning on the sound of his guide's hypnotic voice and the sight of his small, sharp fangs glinting in the moonlight.
