LONELINESS
By Patt Paulos-Darrow

The loneliness seems to be closing in on me.
Why is it, that no one else seems to see?
But then again, why would they,
how could they know?
If I don't tell someone, I can't expect my emotions to show.
Maybe I need to talk to someone, to show me the way.
I hope it will be soon, and that everything will be okay.
In talking to someone, maybe I will find the answers that I seek.
Actually, I think I am fairly strong, and not so weak.
There are so many people that are worse
off than me, I must keep this in mind.
I will just try to get better, and always
remember to try to be kind.
Because no matter what, I may meet
someone who is just the same.
I would recognize them by their look,
not by their name.
I have good feelings and thoughts about
my here and now , life.
And I will do fine, dealing with everday strife.
