There was something in his eyes that said he was broken, and Zim couldn't be sure just what it was. Certainly there seemed to be nothing different about the human after his latest defeat. Except of course the inevitable humiliation which the Irken quite enjoyed ladling down upon his enemy's big filthy head.

So why the sudden gnawing inner voice telling him that the Dib-human was not-quite-all-there?

'Because he hasn't really looked at me...' Zim's eyes shifted to where the human sat, staring down at the quiz they'd been given with an expression of bored disgust. Usually the Dib would have been looking at him with that hot glare that said 'I know you're up to something'. But he wasn't. And it bothered the hell out of Zim.

'Foolish stink beast. He should know that he cannot defeat ZIM and accept it as inevitability of his worthless life.' He cackled softly at the thought of his victory, and with pride at how badly the human seemed to be taking it. Silly humans.

The laugh died as he opened his eyes to smirk at his enemy, only to find that the Dib still wasn't looking at him. In fact, he could have sworn the human was hunched lower in his seat and not looking at him at all.

That was fine with him. Let the human stop his foolish ranting and trying to foil Zim's plans. It would only make conquering this miserable planet that much easier.

If not as much fun...

Damn.

Zim's gloved hands curled into fists as he glared heatedly at the human, feeling hatefulness well up in his body. How dare the boy not pay attention to him, to the mighty ZIM!? He wouldn't stand for being ignored like this.

He would make the Dib-thing notice him again. He would. Because he was ZIM!!

Besides, when you broke your toys, you had to put them together before you played with them again.
