-CHAPTER ONE-
A Strange Meeting

Severus Snape cut the last of the ingredients he needed for the potion he was working on and stored them in his pouch. He was heading back to the school when he heard voices.

Treading carefully, he peered through a clump of bushes.

A small boy was sitting there, transparent and petting an equally transparent yearling unicorn.

Snape approached the ghost-child cautiously.

"Professor Snape?" The transparent boy asked.

Snape reeled as he realized who the ghost was. But how was that possible?

"Tell me what happened." he said. He was determined to find out the truth.

"I got scared when I saw that thing eating the unicorn," the ghost explained. "I ran off, and didn't watch where I was going. I tripped and fell. Everything went blank for a moment. Then water was splashed on my face and I woke up. "

~Merlin,~ Snape's mind reeled, ~he must've hit his head when he fell and then drowned in the stream that runs nearby.~

The boy looked at Snape. "I've been lost for so long." he told him. "Have you come to take me back to Hogwarts?"

"Not yet," Snape replied. "There are things must be resolved first. I will come back tomorrow night, however, with
Professor Dumbledore.
