part 1: Ginny's Plight
"You didn't tell her?" a voice she knew asked as she woke up.
They were still in the foyer but then she realized she hadn't been dreaming, Percy really was crouching next to her rubbing her hand.
"Come on, Gin," he said. Wake up. The Two Stooges here didn't tell me it was you or what you needed but I'm here. I've got you."
"Percy?" she asked as she looked up at him.
Seeing him smile and nod had her lunging into his arms. "I missed you!" She cried.
He hugged her back and stroked her hair gently. "I missed you too, Gins," he said stroking her hair. "But this really isn't a good place for a conversation. You want to come in?"
"I think that's why I'm here," she said looking at Bill and Charlie who nodded.
"Ah," Percy said, as he understood. 'Well, whatever made you an exile, please, join me. I hope you like it here. It's not much but it's home."
Ginny walked in and just stared at the grandeur...Well, compared the Burrow it was grand: The front door opened into a foyer with hardwood floors. Down on the left she could see the kitchen. Not much bigger than a galley kitchen just enough to cook and prepare food in. The foyer opens up into a large room with a door off of it. A window dominates the exterior wall. In the middle of the floor facing away from the windows is a piano. Slightly battered but well taken care of. A couch and chairs form a cozy area to converse.
Beyond the doorway is a spiral staircase that went up to two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a balcony over looking the room below. The first bedroom has a window with a window seat and bookcases flanking the window. A dresser sits on the wall with the door. The bed is placed on the opposite wall.
The entire room is done in woods and shades of blue and green.
The second bedroom is slightly larger with a bathroom next to the room it's only a 3/4 bath done in shades of silver and grey. The bedroom is simpler with a bed, bookshelf, and dresser. Also done in shades of silver and grey with accent colors of yellows and creams.
"Percy this is...it's incredible! Does anyone know you live here?"
"No, Gin," he said. "I haven't spoken to mom and dad since we had that row. It wasn't about the ministry; it was about what I wanted to do with my life."
"What do you do to pay for all of this?" Ginny asked.
"I'm a minstrel," he told her with a smile.
And then she realized the piano had music set up on it and she saw a flute sitting in a flute stand by the window. She saw all kinds of discs lying around the apartment and he chuckled at her look.
"CDs and DVDs. I'll explain later. After I'm told why you need to stay with me," he said.
"I'm pregnant," she whispered.
Percy didn't pull away from her though. He knew something else was coming.
"I was raped," she said choking on her pain.
"Who?" Percy asked.
And when she looked up she saw not her gentle brother but the version that always looked out for her.
"Harry," she whispered. "And Mum didn't believe me and asked how I could say such things about Harry and I don't know what to do Percy and Hermione called Bill and Charlie and they brought me here and..."
"And Shhh," Percy soothed as he held her. "It's alright, Ginny. You can stay here. I'll take care of you. I believe you."
She looked up at him and he nodded. She could read it in his eyes that he did believe her.
"I'm going to put you in the larger room, Gin," he said. "You'll be safe here."
Part 2: Birthday
He was the only one the doctors would let in. Even in his faire costume, the doctors said Ginny wanted him so he was with her. Just as he had been every step of the way for the past seven months. Thankfully Faire Season had just ended so he would be near home until next season. Of course, Ginny wanted to join him next season and maybe if the kids were healthy enough that would work. Kit had a day care center anyway. For the next nine months he'd be either busking or playing in bars. He preferred busking but it got too cold sometimes.
Right now he was coaching Ginny through her labor and he held her hand as she pushed and screamed and the babies were born. This was important, this was life itself.
He held her hand as first a girl and then a boy were born. He was in awe of them, so small and yet so beautiful. Auburn hair and green eyes.
Oddly they were born with jade green eyes, not the traditional blue. Ginny looked down at her babies and then at her brother.
"For the boy," she said, "William Charles Percival Weasley," she told the doctor. "For the girl, Rosalind Lily Virginia Weasley"
The doctor took the names down and Percy looked at the children they were so beautiful and precious and all he could do was smile at them. Bill and Charlie would be here soon, he knew, but for now, he was looking down at his family. His Family. It felt...wonderful.
"Will the coven in our building help?" Ginny asked him.
Percy nodded. "They are already setting things up. My apartment is being expanded to cover the entire top floor. The management of the apartment being the priestess of the coven has decided that we need all the space we can get with these two running around. Until it's ready we're going to stay with her. It should only be about a month at most. Basically knocking out a few walls and putting a few more in a different places. We've been adopted you know. We know belong to the Coven as its children.
"I'm glad, Percy," Ginny said as she held her daughter and son.
"And they wont be like their father. Ever."
"No," he agreed, "they wont. We'll make sure of that."
Part 3: Eleven Years Down the Road
The War had ended years ago, Percy knew. Harry had won but his mind had been damaged badly. That had been when the twins were about four of five he supposed. Harry had been in St. Mungo's ever since. Ginny had of course told the children about their father. They were no more impressed than he had been. BC had sworn never to be like that rapist jerk. Roslil had said if she ever behaved like that would someone please smack her? Percy had found that funny. Now though, he and Ginny were faced with a dilemma. The children had been accepted at Hogwarts and McGonnogall had sent letters to them.
William Charles Percival Weasley and Rosalind Lily Virginia Weasley. They knew the children should go. Bad memories aside, the children needed the finest education. And it wasn't as if Percy couldn't afford the schooling. Ginny made money at the Faire, yes but Percy made money in the bars as well. Percy still paid most of the bills. Ginny bought clothes and groceries but Percy paid the bills like tuition and books. He'd sworn these kids would not have to make do with second hand. He'd vowed that they would have the best of everything.
And he intended to see to it they did.
"Dad," BC asked as he came to stand beside him. He and Roslil both knew Percy was their uncle but all their entire lives, Uncle Percy had been there doing dad things so he was the one they referred to as Dad. They certainly didn't want to call that rapist shit-can named Harry Potter dad so uncle Percy was dad. And He'd always been.
"I'm going to ask you this and let you two decide. Ginny and I are both part of the English Ministry even if we'd rather not be. That means you belong at Hogwarts if you want to go to magic school. I leave the choice up to you. I can afford it."
"Well, you and mum both came from there so it can't be all bad," BC said as Roslil joined them by the window. Ginny was watching from the doorway. "And this way it says Mum has nothing to be sorry or ashamed for. We wont be afraid to be in the world. Mum did nothing wrong and I think it's about time we showed our pride at our mother's blood and looks. So, when can we leave?"
"We'll port-key tomorrow," Percy said. "You'll need to go pack now. And we need to tell Lany where you're going. So, off with you now, okay?"
The kids nodded and scampered off to get dressed and pack and Ginny laid her head against her brother's chest for a minute. She took strength from him a lot. He always had it to give so she took what she needed.
"It'll be good to see Hermione again," Ginny said as she looked up at Percy. He nodded and wrote replies to the owls and sent them off. Then, he and Ginny sat on the couch in the living room and prepared to go back into a world that had hurt them something awful. But, for the sake of the children, they'd do it. Everything for their children. Everything.
"We'll have to go to St. Mungo's," Ginny said. "There is no doubt about who they belong to so I should tell him. Even if he is a vegetable."
Percy nodded and Ginny went into her room to pack. He did as well, calling to tell Kit he was going to miss two weeks of Faire and he'd be back when he could. She told him she understood and that she would put him on paid leave. Percy was grateful.
Once everyone was packed, they ordered a pizza for dinner and then went to bed. It was going to be hard to go back, but Percy and Ginny would.
Their children deserved to see the beauty of their world.
They slept, secure in that knowledge.
4: St. Mungo's and Family
Port Keying was an interesting experience for BC and Roslil.
They weren't sure what to make of it but dad had assured them flooing all the way to England would be worse so, the Port-Key. And now, here they were in the hospital the sperm donor was in. He'd been in a vegetative state ever since the final battle and BC thought it was Karma catching up with him. H took something from someone else so something was taken from him. Universal justice "Mum and Dad are with him," Ginny told Percy s they walked through the corridors. The kids walked with them, heads held high and not flinching from the looks they were getting. BC was amused.
Everyone it seemed knew, they'd just lived in denial so long getting slapped in the face with it was stunning them. Ginny walked with her head held as high as her children and brother and they went into the room containing one Harry potter. She saw her mother start to open her mouth until she saw the children. Then, Ginny looked at her coldly.
"11 years ago, you had your say," Ginny told her. "Now I will have mine. These are his children. He did rape me. Your precious headmaster did cover for him. You were the ones who committed the foul act not even listening to me. Well, here is what I now say to you: he was only the sperm donor. Percy has been their father for the entirety of their lives. He's the one who taught them the things a father teaches his children. He's the one whose taught them right from wrong and that there are limits no matter who you are. Harry potter was nothing but a rapist who was protected because of who he was. And it was wrong then and it's wrong now. And his children/ they want nothing to do with him. Thy do not even carry his name. They carry mine. Now, excuse me, my children need school supplies."
Ginny and the children left and Percy looked at his parents.
"And you thought I was the one blinded by things. You were wrong. About everything."
And he too walked out the door and way from the room, down to the cafeteria where he found Ginny hugging Hermione and Fred and George standing watching with smiles on their faces.
"Gin," he called softly. She looked at him and he smiled. "I'm done with them now. Anything else we need to do here or can we get the shopping done?"
"Well," Ginny said. "Fred and George want to hug but then we can go shop. BC is impressed you waited until we left for whatever you said."
"BC knows I attempt not to swear in front of him and Roslil. Come one brats, shopping."
And Fred and George smiled as BC and Roslil ran to Percy and they waited for Ginny so they could go shopping. Fred and George decided to tag along. For family's sake. And so the family of four with Uncles and aunt Hermione headed off into the place known as Diagon Alley.
