"ANYTHING YOU WANT"
A "Farscape" story
Written by Alison M. DOBELL
* * * * *
It was at first sight just like every other commerce planet they had ever been to except that here everything and anything seemed to be for sale. If you could imagine it, the Deltirons could find a box to put it in and give it you gift-wrapped. For a price. It was a Hynerian's paradise, a Pa'u's
treasure trove and the gift of all gifts to a light fingered Nebari. Aeryn and John were bickering again and the rest of the crew just wanted a break from them so D'Argo paired off with Chiana and Zhaan with Rygel, leaving the problem children to go sort things out on their own. They hardly noticed the others peeling off. Aeryn was in a foul mood and it seemed nothing John said
would get her out of it. He was really fed up with always being the one in the wrong. Aeryn turned to face him briefly.
"Just stay out of trouble this time."
"I don't get into trouble, Aeryn. Trouble finds me. I'm not the bad guy here, I'm the victim."
Another argument ensued only to be interrupted by the arrival of a silver glistening spikey haired Deltiron. As she moved her clothes shimmered and clung to the kind of figure most women would die for. John would have had to be blind not to notice her. His mouth dropped open and Aeryn kicked his foot. "Ouch!" He hopped on one foot for a microt. "What the hell was that for, Aeryn?"
She did not answer but shot him a look of pure fury. The stranger was watching them closely, her eye travelling slowly up John's body as if taking an inventory, then her eyes flicked to Aeryn, a slight smile forming on her silver lips. "I'll give you 20 canara."
Aeryn looked at her, not understanding. "What?"
The woman tilted her head and flicked an eye at Crichton. "Is he annoying you?"
"All the time. What's that got to do with..."
Crichton interrupted. "Okay, okay, Aeryn, I get the picture. No need to paint it in oils. I'll just go and..."
Aeryn's expression set into the kind of look that could shatter granite. "No! You are going nowhere, Crichton. Every time you wander off you get into trouble."
He flung his head back and closed his eyes a microt, trying to calm down. To get the situation back under control. The woman's eyes sparkled. The male definitely interested her. He was different. Had fire. She liked that. She turned to Aeryn again. "50 canara!"
Aeryn frowned at her. Was she still here? "What?"
The woman waved a hand at Crichton. "I'll give you 50 for him, take the annoying male off your hands."
Aeryn looked shocked so did Crichton but he was more interested in Aeryn's response than the idea that someone was seriously trying to buy him. "50?"
The woman saw the incredulous look on her face and misunderstood. She smiled. "80 canara, it's a good offer. Maybe the best you'll get today."
She shook her head, stunned. "He's not for sale."
"Everything on this planet is for sale."
Crichton could feel his self control slipping again. "Listen lady, I don't know who you are or what your game is but this is a private conversation. So how about you butt out?"
The woman tilted her head, allowing her eyes to travel over his body as she slowly walked around him. He was getting really pissed off now but not as much as Aeryn. Seeing the warning flash of anger on Aeryn's face actually cooled Crichton's own temper. "Hey Aeryn, let's get out of here."
She started to nod, the woman looked confused. "Your pardon."
Aeryn stopped in her tracks, her look threatening major injury if the Deltiron did not step out of her way.
"The male. He does not belong to you?"
Aeryn snorted and tried not to laugh too much. "Crichton? Belong to me? Do I look completely fahrbot?"
The woman's puzzled look cleared and she slowly grinned. "Sorry to have troubled you."
As she stepped away Aeryn turned to say something to Crichton but he was not there. Neither was the Deltiron. She swore under her breath and looked round. Typical of the human to ignore her warning. Now she would have to go and look for him before he got into trouble.
* * * * *
Crichton spun round. Where the hell was he? He was standing in a courtyard, or rather he was in a courtyard with this strange woman pushing him towards a doorway. He dug his heels in and stopped.
"Wait a microt, what the hell is going on here and where's Aeryn?"
The Deltiron smiled at him, a hand resting on his shoulder and sliding slowly down his chest. "You are alone here. You do not belong to anyone."
"No, sister, I am *not* alone here. That pissed off ex-Peace Keeper I was with? Aeryn? I'm with her. And no I don't belong to anyone, I belong to myself."
Her smile reached her eyes now, her hand brushed his cheek. "You are not like most Sebaceans."
"That's because I'm not a Sebacean. I'm human."
If anything his reply just heightened her interest. She called out something, her voice soft and melodic. Immediately half a dozen women came out of the house. The woman identified herself. "My name is Selson and these are my daughters."
He nodded, remembering his manners. "Pleased to meet you. My name is John Crichton."
Selson indicated the door. "Please, take some refreshment with us."
He was about to refuse but the women looked so expectant and he did not want to appear churlish so he accepted and allowed himself to be taken inside the house. The interior of the house reminded him of a Greek villa. Selson indicated for him to sit down and the women arranged themselves around him. He felt awkward as if he was on display. Selson gave him a smile and passed him a drink. He looked at the slightly frothy liquid. "What is it?"
"Kel-kenith. It is the juice and berries of the Kel tree."
He took a tentative sip. It tasted like a mix of tropical fruits. Not bad and he was thirsty. She watched him empty the glass and casually refilled it for him then brought him food. It took him a microt to realise he was the only one eating or drinking. "I'm sorry, aren't you having anything?"
She shook her head and the women smiled. He had the oddest feeling they were expecting something from him in return then he remembered what she had said. Everything is for sale on Deltiron. He smiled. "How much for the food and drink?"
Selson shook her head. "It is not for sale."
He frowned. She laughed. "Your mate said you were not for sale."
He coloured. Selson thought it a most attractive attribute. "Aeryn is um, not my mate. She's a friend. You know, shipmate? Member of the crew."
She nodded. He was beginning to feel warm. Selson waved her daughters away and they took his plate and the empty glass and left them alone. Selson looked into his eyes, so blue. A rare colour in the Uncharted Territories. She found him quite captivating. He noticed her open appraisal, was flattered. Her hips swayed as she moved closer and he could not help but notice how attractive she was. She was what, twenty, twenty five? Not a day over 25. She leaned in to him to say something, the words lost to him as he inhaled her perfume and she kissed his ear. A beautiful exotic scent that was doing strange things to him. Then she was leaning closer him, her silver lips trailing over his, her hands touching his bare arms and running slowly up them as she kissed him. <Oh man, this wasn't supposed to happen>
He did not know who initiated what but within microts they were kissing each other with passion, every touch of her lips on his breathing fire into his veins. Her hands caressing him as the kiss deepened, her tongue urging his to respond, his hands now taking up the journey she was already describing as she peeled back his clothing. From another room the daughters watched through a two way mirror. Each eager to be next to taste the fire of this unexpected male. Each looked to be about twenty human years old. But this was Deltiron and the women were much older than they looked. Had Selson not introduced them as her daughters, Crichton would have taken them for sisters. Deltirons lived for the equivalent of several human centuries while the males lived only long enough to procreate then they died. Selson was pleased to see that this male look sturdy and strong. They had until the next day dawned to take him as their own then he too would be gone. All of the women were determined to share his last day and in return for his seed they would pleasure him until the breath in his body was gone. It was their way. The only way they knew.
Oblivious to what fate had in store for him, Crichton somehow found himself guided into the bedroom. Selson whispered things in his ear that the translation microbes could not completely translate but he got the general idea and found himself smiling back at her as she trailed gentle
kisses down the side of his face and loved him so sweetly it made his heart sigh. He wanted to tell her they should not be doing this. Tell her about Aeryn but Aeryn was angry with him, they were not talking, and for once it felt good to be welcome. To feel a touch on his skin that begged for shared intimacy, a warm gentle touch that so mirrored his own feelings he found it a beautiful seduction. She rolled him onto his back making him chuckle. Both naked now. She smiled into his eyes. "You are happy? I am glad, John Crichton."
The chuckle deepened. He stroked her face, noticing how she angled her gentle face into the curve of his open hand. "The name is John, just John."
"John."
He liked the way she pronounced his name, as if it were something precious. She kissed the palm of his hand and moved her hips against his crotch, feeling him stir beneath her. It had been a long time but some things you don't forget. He felt he should warn her, explain. He did not want to take advantage of her. He opened his mouth but she placed the fingers of her right hand gently over his mouth and spoke between little open mouthed kisses. "It's alright, John. This will be pleasure for both of us. My gift to you, your gift to me."
That amused him. A gift? He had never quite thought of sex that way before. When she took her hand away he said what needed to be said anyway. "You know I can't stay, don't you? We only came to get supplies for our ship then we have to leave in the morning."
A shadow of sadness crept into those gentle eyes and he regretted his words but she smiled for him. "You do not mind spending your last night with us?"
Last night? Hell, this would be the first and only night but yes he supposed from her point of view it could be called the last night. He nodded and was surprised to see the bright shimmer of tears in her eyes. "Hey, shhhh, don't cry Selson." He kissed her tears away so gently it almost broke her heart. "We don't have to do this if you don't want. We can just talk."
She hushed him. "No, I want this. To be with you here and now, John. A gift to remember and cherish always."
Her words moved him then she was kissing him again, so gently that he could not help but respond. They made love slowly, John surprised that as they approached coitus the daughters came into the room. They were undressed and sat around the large bed watching with wide gentle eyes. He almost rolled off the bed, out from under Selson, but she was not inclined to let him go. "It is alright John, they want to share this with us. With you."
"No, it's not right. I can't do this."
"Sssh," Her hand was on him again coaxing him, he was so close. Felt himself approach the edge again, perspiration on his brow. One of the women stroked his brow, kissed the perpiration from his face. This was not happening, not real. His hips were rocking now, unable to stop as he got closer and closer to orgasm. Selson rode him so beautifully, other hands touching him, other lips kissing and touching him. It was weird, erotic, surreal. He closed his eyes, felt lips wash his nipples while every inch of his skin seemed to be being caressed and sucked and nipped and washed with a variety of tongues. Selson leaned in to him as he began to come, her walls gripping him and encouraging him as he lost all control and came in a rich fountain that filled her with his juices just as she orgasmed around him. He held her as his hips finished bucking up inside her, her thanks whispered lovingly into his ear as other hands took over and began to wash him clean.
When morning came he could not rise, could not move, could not do anything. They never left him, not for a microt. No sooner had he finished making love to one than another would seamlessly take her place, the others stroking him, kissing him and caressing him in an endless adoration that he could not quite grasp. He had surely died and gone to Heaven, though if Aeryn caught him they would be burying his sorry ass here on Deltiron. But oh man, it was so good just to have everything perfect. Just this once. He opened his weary mouth to say something only to have a tongue slowly slide into it and caress his tongue.
"Mmmmm,"
Hands were on him again, trying to coax him into another erection. He was so damn tired. He never thought he could tire of sex but he had been performing all night and he was wrecked. To his surprise he felt himself slowly growing hard again, a pair of lips coaxing him and drawing
delicious sensations up his spine as the mouth gripped and sucked and teased while other lips gently plundered his mouth. He opened his eyes and looked into the most incredible green ones he had ever seen. It was Namia, at least it looked like Namia. But then she looked identical to her sister Ramala and...oh frell, he would never be able to distinguish between them all and somehow it did not seem to matter though he could not fathom out why. There were three of them working him into the final orgasm, taking it in turns to share him as he came. How the hell they managed that he had no idea. He felt like he had been put out to stud. The thought drew a smile to his lips and then they allowed him to sleep, while gentle arms held and cradled him in their loving embrace.
* * * * *
Aeryn was furious, she could not find him anywhere. What the frell had he done now? She asked around but people either did not know what she was talking about or would not tell her anything. Her mood got darker. She returned to the pod, maybe he had gone on ahead and was waiting with the others but when she got there she found no John. D'Argo gave her an exasperated look. "I thought you were going to keep an eye on him?"
"I am not his keeper."
"Then maybe you should be!" Yelled D'Argo.
Chiana tried to calm things down. Her trip had been most profitable, especially as no money had actually changed hands. "Hey, you don't know he got into any trouble Aeryn."
She rolled her eyes. Rygel made a grumbling sound. "This is Crichton we're talking about, of course he got into trouble."
Zhaan gave him a look of admonishment. "You don't know that, Rygel."
Aeryn stood with her hands on her hips, straining to see above the heads of the people crowding to and from the market place.
"We shall have to ask Pilot to mark this location on the starcharts so we can return someday."
Aeryn shot D'Argo a black look. "We are *never* coming here again, D'Argo."
"Why not? We all got what we wanted, didn't we?"
Aeryn said nothing. Rygel had managed to get a good selection of fresh food. Zhaan had been able to get all the herbs she needed plus some she didn't. Chiana had been able to snurch to her heart's content. D'Argo had bought new strings for his shelquen and some things for Pilot. Aeryn had not bought anything having spent most of her time on Deltiron looking for Crichton. Seeing the look on Aeryn's face, D'Argo gave a sigh.
"Very well, we will wait another three arns. If John is not here by then we will leave without him and he will have to wait until we can unload the transport and come back for him."
* * * * *
They did not want him to go and Crichton had to admit it was a wrench to leave. Selson was surprised that he was still breathing but manners prevented her from saying so. She wanted him desperately to stay so that they could have the honour of blessing his ashes, but she could hardly give that as her reason.
"Look, you've been amazingly kind and I have *really* enjoyed myself. Probably too much, but I have to go. The transport pod'll be waiting for me and the others will be worried."
Selson kissed him lightly on the lips, tears in her eyes. He could see the others were similarly upset. It made him feel guilty as if he owed them something and was leaving without paying. "Please John, spend your last day with us. We love you."
<Uh oh, this was getting way too heavy. In over your head John> "Um, you can't love me, you don't know me. And you'll find someone else, someone who can stay with you always..."
"We don't want anyone else."
One of women, he thought it was Ricalla, was clinging to his neck crying. The tears spilling down his neck making him feel guilty. "Oh John, let us love you, please?"
He could feel himself aching inside. Man, if he stayed another day they would be carrying him out in a frelling box. Not that it would not be a wonderful way to go...
Selson deepened her kiss and he felt his resolve starting to weaken. Ricalla rubbed herself into the side of his hip, her hand sliding down and rubbing him through the leather making him squirm. Then they were all over him, exciting his hormones in ways he had no control over. It was the acid bark of a familiar voice that shattered that particular house of cards for all of them.
"John Crichton! What the frell do you think you are doing?"
He closed his eyes and groaned. Selson turned and stood protectively in front of him. The others followed suit creating a little wall of bodies to shield him from the wrath of the Radiant Aeryn Sun. She was oblivious to the women and strode into the house, pulling them apart to get to him. When she had created a space and stood face to face with him the disgust on her face cut through him like a knife. "And to think I was worried that something had *happened* to you!"
Stunned he could not say anything. The crack of her hand as it struck his cheek stunned him but not as much as the familiar whine of a pulse gun being powered up. He heard Selson's voice, now dark and eerily devoid of all humour, cut through the charged atmosphere. "If you touch him again I will fire! He does not *belong* to you, you have no right to treat him with disrespect."
Crichton cursed. <Oh man, Selson, that is definitely the wrong thing to say to Aeryn. She is really gonna kill me now>
Aeryn's lips peeled back in fury. "You want him?"
All the women nodded.
Her eyes flashed daggers at them all. "Then you can *have* him!"
Areyn turned and stormed out of the house. Crichton tried to follow, "Aeryn! Don't go away mad. Aeryn!"
Selson followed Aeryn out to make sure she really was leaving then closed the door behind her. Her daughters crowded around Crichton, anxious that he was alright. He was puzzled. Why would he not be alright? Misery shone from his eyes, he put his head in his hands. The daughters tried to comfort him, to find out what was wrong. He shook his head and looked up, tears in his eyes. Selson looked at him, realisation slowly dawning.
"This woman. This Aeryn Sun. You love her, don't you John?"
The words were softly spoken but went straight to his heart. He tried to hold back the tears. "Is it that obvious?" He joked.
The humour fell flat. Selson nodded and sat next to him. For several microts no one spoke. Selson lay a hand against his cheek and looked at him. "We could have made you so happy here, John." She said quietly.
"I know Selson, and don't think I don't appreciate it but in my culture..." He paused, not wanting to imply criticism of any kind. "In my culture one man loves one woman. We don't..."
He was not sure how to continue. Selson smiled at him. The women seemed amused. "You don't share?"
He chuckled. "Not in the way you mean." He paused. "And on my planet they would lock you up for what we just did."
Her eyebrows rose in surprise but he was not about to explain that particular part of the constitution to her. He had to keep reminding himself that they had taken advantage of him not the other way around. Selson kissed his cheek gently and waited for him to look at her. "You are going now?"
"Yeah, I'm afraid so."
"Then we will never see you again."
He was about to tell her never to say never then realised he owed her the truth. "Probably not."
"Then we will walk you back to your ship."
Alarm flashed through him. "No, no, that's not necessary."
Ramala gave him a keen look, her hand running up and down the inside of his right thigh. It was distracting but after everything else they had done together he would live. "You do not want your friend to see us."
"No, no, it's not that..." His voice trailed off. It *was* that. Exactly. He sighed. "Well yeah, it is that. But not because I'm ashamed of you but because the others - my friends - would not understand. Then instead of just Aeryn being furious with me they would all be angry."
Namia tilted her head, her hand playing with the front of his tunic, her eyes lifting slowly to look into his eyes. "Then why do you want to go back?"
He looked at her and thought about the question. Why did he want to go back? Back to all the bad tempered bickering, always being put in the wrong, trying to keep his hormones in check around Aeryn kick-my-ass Sun. Why did he want to go back to all that when he could stay here with them and be loved and adored until his dick fell off? The answer was quiet and came like an ache from the heart. Aeryn. Because he had given his heart to Aeryn and whether she kept it or threw it away he would rather spend eternity with Aeryn in hell than a day in paradise without her. He did not realise that tears were running freely down his face until Selson dried them with her tender lips. He looked at her, his heart breaking, and suddenly he knew she understood. Really understood. They took him into their embrace and held him while he cried. When he had finished they never spoke of it again. One by one he thanked them all and he said his goodbyes. He said goodbye to Selson last of all.
"I don't know how to thank you."
She smiled and touched his cheek gently. "You already have."
He frowned, the line across the bridge of his nose deepening in confusion.
"Our men do not live as long as the women, John. You have helped ensure that we will not die out with this generation."
His mouth fell open. It was quite comical. He looked around at them all. Selson chuckled, the daughters smiled with love. "You can't mean..?"
"Yes, John. You have impregnated all of us. Thanks to you we will bring new life into our world and the circle will continue unbroken."
He went bright red, they laughed gently and hugged him. When he had got over the shock he looked at Selson. "No wonder your men don't live as long as the women if one man has to service the whole family."
She did not ask what he meant but somehow she just knew. "Thank you, John."
He nodded and took his leave of them. Reluctant to go yet eager to make his peace with Aeryn. This was one story he definitely did not intend to go into any detail about when he got back. He just hoped the transport pod would still be there to take him back to Moya....
