Birthday Presents
by victoriaely
John expected Carson to be happier. It was his birthday, after all. His boyfriend was staring at the little object he wa holding in his hands.
"Carson? Is everything okay?"
"Aye." He turned around to face John and showed him what he had in his hands: a watch. "Mum sent it last month but asked me to open it my birthday."
"It's a great watch. I don't understand why -"
"It's not good."
"Did it break during transport?"
"No, John. It's an Earth-watch." Seeing no sign of comprehension on John's face, he continued. "Just 24 hours. Can't be set to show the 27 hours that we have."
John sat down by his side and took the watch from is hands, setting it aside on the bed. "The good thing is... we have three extra hours each day."
"For what?"
"Carson, I expected more from you," John grinned and mentally locked the door.
