Work Text:

Sean was sitting inside his Berea, Ohio home
And wondering what he done to be so alone
Without the one woman who was the love
Of his life before she went away like a dove
Being released from its cage to roam.

When they first set eyes on each other,
They thought they were going to be partners
For such a long time.

But that was before one of those dime
Each pictures got Eva a wonderful job offer
To be a professional model in the city of New
York for a salary that everyone knew
To be the largest in all of recorded history.

But when she looked at Sean, Eva began to worry
About how their love would be able to thrive through
A long distance relationship and not con
Themselves into doing what they would be abandon
For the rest of their lives, only to have Sean say, "There is
No need to worry. I'll just take Keith up on his
Offer to move into his apartment in Manhattan.
And after we get ourselves settled in, we can walk
Around this wonderful place known as Central Park."

But that was before she realized that it was wrong to force
Sean to pack and move because her life took a course
For something more than that walk through Central Park.

And so, when Sean came home the next day,
He saw that Eva had already gone away.

But that was not before she left a note behind
Which said, "Sean, it really was kind
Of you to make the offer to me on that day.
But I just can't let you do that.
Now, I know you'll be calling a cold, heartless rat
Sooner or later. And I really am sorry.
But the salary that they're offering is too much money
To say 'no' to.Please take good care of our cat
And don't forget to have a full rich life. --Eva."

I guess modeling really does turn you into a diva
In spite of the fact that you're still in love
With a guy who treats you like a gentle dove
Just like Sean had done with Eva.
