Work Text:

Yes,it's true that I am Ralph Dibny, the Elongated Man
And that everybody knows about the true human
Being who happens to be the one member
Of the Justice League of America who no longer
Hides behind a mask even thought I sometimes can.

But to tell the truth,I wish that I could do so again
Because I had done something that is beyond vain.

You see,I left my beloved wife Sue alone in the satellite
Headquarters of the JLA where she had an encounter of fright
With Doctor Light,a villain whose name is on the list of main
Foes that the League had done battle against
Ever since we have allowed ourselves to exist.

Anyway,as soon as we got back to the satellite
And witnessed the farmost shocking sight
Of Sue being raped by him,we fought against
And successfully defeated Doctor Light before Batman
And I had taken Sue to the hospital where she can
Get better before Bruce had beamed back
Up and watch Zatanna do one hell of a hack
Job on Light's brain and turn it into a can
Full of creamed squash in the Summertime.

Of course,he tried to stop the crime
From being finished, only to have his mind get
Wiped as well and no one had let
Themselves try to stop it at the time.

You know,it's too bad that Superman was not
There when things got way too hot
To handle all of us...including the Flash.

I mean,if Superman were there, there would be no crash
Of the JLA and we would still be able to spot
Any threat that might endanger the Earth and
Save the planet from a a fate that is not so grand.

Well,I better go to the hospital and see how Sue
Is doing and hope to God that true
Love would still be enough to withstand
Even what the vile sack of human garbage had
Done to her inside the JLA Satellite pad.

After that,I just don't know what I should do.

Maybe I should quit the League and go do
Something that should not be considered bad.
