AUTHORS NOTE: Drabble for the Jackfic word 'Promise'.
I've made many promises in my life.
Most of them without actually saying the words aloud. A promise is a promise, spoken or implied.
I've done my best to keep them, with varying degrees of success.
Daniel is dying. He's in so much pain, I can't even begin to fathom.
Suddenly I'm in the gate room with him and Oma.
He says it's what he wants.
Jacob said in the beginning they probably wouldn't be able to cure him completely.
I can't do that to him. I made a promise just as sure as if I'd said the words.
"Jacob, stop."
