The Horror of Waiting

Summary:

Here's some poetry I wrote a few weeks ago, after watching City of Lost Children.

The Horror of Waiting

I watch,
The silent predator.

How often have we been down this way,
My dear prey?

We both know how this night will turn out.
We both feel it in our bones.

You are so lovely in your fake shell.
How odd that the first amongst you
On this night is chosen.

I move, stealthly, within her sphere.
Wait...I cannot move.

Her sole body motion is
Forward for the briefest of moments,
Until her help comes.

I will wait. I can wait.

"I'm here and always aware."
