Snowbound: Rule 12

Summary:

This is a mini-sequal to "Snowbound: Miracle on Sicard Street".

Work Text:

Abby smirked as the elevator door closed on Gibbs and Jan Venable. Her smirk grew to a smile as the door stayed closed, and Tim wondered at her expression.

"You're up to something," he accused. "C'mon, spill! What's going on?"

"McGee, I'm hurt! I'm not doing anything but stand here and stare at this adorable little baby," Abby protested.

"Abby," McGee scowled, "it's me, remember?"

Abby grinned. "Gibbs asked me to put together a little something in my lab for Jan, and I did. That's all!" she grinned.

"A little something meaning what?" DiNozzo asked suspiciously.

"Mistletoe," Abby nodded.

"What is missle toe," asked Ziva, "some sort of small rocket?"

"Oh, no," said Damon, "it's a plant people hang up at Christmas for couples to kiss under."

"So, Gibbs and Jan are kissing in the elevator? What happened to rule 12?" Ziva demanded.

"What's Rule 12?" Damon asked.

"Never date a co-worker," DiNozzo groused.

"If I may point out," Ducky said from the floor, "what is going on in the elevator is hardly a date. Jethro's Rule 12 might not apply to mistletoe and Christmas."

"Yeah," said McGee brightly. "There's no rule against holiday kissing in elevators!"

Abby poked Tim. "Or in the Forensics Lab , Tim."

He smiled down at her. "Nice point."

They left.

Damon Wirth cuddled up to Ziva. "I'm not a co-worker, am I?"

"No," she grinned. "And I do need to learn more about these American holiday traditions..."

They left.

DiNozzo stared, open mouthed, at the sudden absence of his co-workers.

"Nobody left for you, Anthony?" Ducky asked.

"Apparantly not," he said, tight-lipped.

Tony's intercom went off.

"Yeah, DiNozzo here."

"Can I get you to help me for a moment, Agent DiNozzo? I need somebody tall enough to..."

"I'll be right there, Cynthia," said Tony.

A few moments later...

"But what about Rule 12?" Cynthia whispered into his ear.

"That doesn't cover kissing under the mistletoe, hon," he teased.

"Merry Christmas, Tony."

"Merry Christmas, Cynthia."
