Just had surgery on my left wrist and foot. Normally, when faced with such a thing, I get nervous and shaky. This time out, though, I was surprised to feel no fear or trepidation. I went to surgery relaxed and calm and came out of it the same way. I had no real significant pain (doctor said I would have a lot) and am recovering well. I can only attribute my relaxed state of mind to being so much older and experienced much in my life so that this was just another blip on the radar. Does this mean that with age comes less fear?
