Meeting Like This

When they first met, it had been an accident; the Doctor having been chasing after a rogue alien out to destroy the Earth - again - and Sam having been hot on the heels of a werewolf that had so far murdered four people.
The second had been not so much chance as curiosity - which had only grown when Sam Winchester had obviously seen and yet politely ignored the strange blue police box that had suddenly, mysteriously, and very intentionally appeared beside his brother's classic black '67 Impala in the motel parking lot after yet another such hunt.
Their third encounter, this one as Sam was standing under a street lamp, just staring at the house across the street, was quite definitely deliberate; the Doctor giving the invisible angel hovering over the larger man's shoulder the same polite ignorance while holding out a hand and inviting another lost and lonely human inside.
