"With our new leash in life, we need to be able to use all weapons," Chris explained. "Josiah's stories have taught us that different things kill different Vampires."
Buck snorted. "Some stories. But why the Kid?"
Chris shrugged. "He's the best we've got, after Vin, with the crossbow, and Vin's perfecting y'all's shooting."
Buck nodded. "And Ezra's teaching the swordfighting," he grumbled. He'd thought he'd never have to pick up a sword again. "When do I get to teach something?"
"I want you on the roping."
"Me?"
"How many times have I seen you lasso somebody into your bed?"
Buck laughed. "But they've all been willing!"
