It's 2 A.M.
He's asleep.
I'm awake.
I need to
dream.
Close my eyes
and snuggle down.
The dark is so heavy,
The air is like water.
Don't let me drown.
It's paralyzing,
the sounds I hear;
the fan is clicking,
the blinds are tapping.
I look over and stare
at him.
I can't sleep
and it's still 2 A.M.
