That Nyquil High

It started with a sniff,
only one of those.
But then it turned into one mother of a stuffy nose.
And though I was in denial,
'bout the flu I might have caught,
help I sought,
and so some medicine I bought.
And so I went
down to Walgreens.
I walked past the pain relievers
straight on to cold remedies.
Didn't want no Alka-Seltzer.
Couldn't use no Tylenol.
There is just one panacea
and I know it cures it all!
It's minty green.
It tastes like crud.
But it has alcohol enough
to warm the blood.
There might be others
but I admit I've never looked.
Cause if I didn't lie,
Well, I'd just admit I'm hooked.
Oh me, Oh my
that Nyquil high!
I was feeling just so rotten
thought that I would die.
Then I took a single shot
and liked it quite a lot,
that Nyquil high,
that Nyquil high.
Yeah, yeah.
Now I don't need no MD20
if I want a high.
I'll be chugging ten ounce bottles
till the day I die.
And when I need an alibi
for all the Nyquil that I drink
there's the flu,
so I just say I caught it, too.
I cough and wheeze.
I blow my nose.
I say my sinuses are bad,
then take another dose.
And no one knows about my jones
except the pharmacist, I think.
The last time that I bought my fix,
the guy gave me a wink.
Costs a mint.
Sometimes I think
I'd get off cheaper
buying peppermint schnapps to drink.
There might be others
but I admit I've never looked.
Cause if I didn't lie,
Well, I'd just admit I'm hooked.

that Nyquil high!
Nothing can replace it,
just don't ask me why.
I don't try to understand,
I'm just grateful for the brand.
