First Light
First light found me packing my bag
I was going this time for sure
I had to cross the border,
I fell victim to the lore
of far away magical places
where there is no law and order
responding to the call of adventure
I have to cross the border
Noise
Small shops
expensive clothes
I am at the airport now
I can't wait to get away from here
I will not be sucked into the insanity again
not another summer....
no more concrete and sweat
walking towards the plane
I hear her voice
I see her eyes, full of tears
but only in my mind
I gott'a cross the border..
I have to get away
but what would I do with out her
at the end of my every day?
Noise
Small shops
expensive clothes
quaint accents
I am in another airport now
what am I doing here
what am I gonna do
and what when summers gone
and my money is through
I can't go back in the winter
that's the time to go away
maybe I ought'a go home now
but then what would I say
about what I have just done
I have turned, and walked away
I just don't want to waste
away this summer's days
I have done that for ever
and it's time for a change
God I wish it would snow
let the season's rearrange
Noise
Small shops
expensive clothes
quaint accents
and a bell
where am I now that
my alarm clock rings
where is my back pack
plane ticket, and things
first light's sunshine
and the birds all sing
just outside my window
I feel like a King
I am home still
it was all a dream
I am really confused now
wonder what it could mean...
