Misoneism
by Jim Nasium
Many years have passed now
since last he had been there
and even though he knew where he was
he felt the misoneism taking over
nothing was as he remembered it...
they were the same people
and yes, this was the same town
but now, somehow, nothing wasn't the same
The home he had lived in
many years ago was now gone
the roads that were only foot path's
then, were now all paved
The children he would play with
out in the hot afternoon sun
so many years ago, were now full grown
with children of their own
He knew where he was
but yet nothing was the same
and he felt sick as the misoneism
over took him, and he forgot his own name
could he somehow capture the memories again
just as he recalled them then
before the misoneism took over his soul
or would he forever feel this uncertainty
Nothing last for ever
sooner or later everything will change
but why did it have to happen
his memories had to rearrange
to accept all that is new here
try to swallow the pain
trying to deal with the
feeling of misoneism in his brain
