Drabble #96: The note

It took him a while before the soft rustling of paper invaded his dreams. Slowly, sleepily Gil opened one eye, and saw a little note under his right hand.
A note.
No Nick.
Just a note.
He took the note, and reached with his other hand for his glasses that were on the little tabled beside their bed. He put them on, and read the note. And he had to smile.
'Gone out for fresh croissants. Be back in 20. Love you. Nick.'
Gil laid back again, closed his eyes again and murmured softly, "I love you, too, my Nicky."
