The Bartender & The Commando

No one knew, no one cared
I had no hope, I had no love.
Until the day I walked into
that bar.
Standing there all alone,
filling glasses just waiting
for all to go home.
I sat in the back all by myself
a pity party staring myself.
The woman I loved has left me
empty inside. No where to run
no where to hide.
As the last patron left we're
all alone just the Bartender and
the Commando.
No words were spoken there was
nothing to be said as I took his hand
and lead him to bed.
In the quite of dawn with the sun just
there I see in his eyes all that I dread.
The loneliness the pain and the fear.
As I pull him close and whisper in his
ear, "it's alright I'm still here".
And so it goes from that day on, the
two found love in each others arms.
The Bartender and the Commando lived
life to the last, and in the gray twilight
of the futures and past it just goes to
show how long love will last.
That two unlikely people should meet
and fall in love.
