Quicksand
by James Logan Howlett

Drowning in quicksand...can't move, can't breath.
Sinking. Nothing to hold on to to save me from this
watery grave.

All alone I sink...can't swim, can't see.
I hear you moving around me. I try to call out but
nothing; the sand seeps into my mouth making my throat
ache.

Laughter. That's what I hear. Laughter as you watch me
drown.

No longer can I hear you. No longer can I feel you. You've
left me to die and it hurts inside.

So cold. I die alone, not even the depths of hell taking me in.

Heaven refuses me for the sins I've done. No where to go, no one to
turn to. Alone.

No avenging angel to save me, no loved ones to hold me. Purgatory.

Well that's the end of the poem. Hope you liked it.
