Right from the beginning I believed I saw
Ideals and motivations hidden deep within you
I honestly thought I could bring them to the fore
Whilst hoping to liberate your passion too
I doubt that it was only vanity on my part
Perhaps I was playing the great manipulator to the end
Or, is your projected image true - have you really no heart ?
No, you fear your emotions will overwhelm you my friend
What else must I do to melt that cynical ice
To shatter the facade you claim is real
There must be something that will suffice
Revealing to you logical mind the testimony of how I truly feel
I freely gave you my trust - though you named it hell
But my love, it came from my heart, honest and true
Then I gave you your wish - and so-called freedom as well
Gave you some time apart to think it all through
All I hold dear, I left in your safe keeping
Surely this has revealed the depth of my trust
Now I pray that your love is no longer sleeoing
It seems I can wait for you no more, Yet I must
Side by side - back to back, that's where we belong
In passion - hearts united in a dream that's sublime
This is our joint destiny my love, I know I'm not wrong
