Truth

Summary:

What happens when Justin tells Brian his real age?

Work Text:

Justin sighed and he ran a hand through his blonde hair. He lay back against the pillows, and smiled a little, seeing that
Brian was asleep. The two of them had been dating for 6 months, and Justin felt that things between them were getting
serious. However, watching Brian sleep, he feared that the other man was just looking for play, not anything serious. As
Brian rolled over in the bed, pulling the blanket with him, Justin got up. He picked up his cell phone, and called his mother,
saying that he would be staying the night at a friends house.

His mother had no clue that he was gay. If she did, she would have never let him out of the house. His mother would be
standing right in front of him, shouting out insults at him because of his sexuality, and Justin knew that he wasn't ready
for that. Trying not to make too much noise, he gathered his things, and went to take a quick shower. When Justin was
done, and he had changed into his clothes again, he silently slipped out of Brian's house. He let out a breath of relief, as
the door closed behind him, and Brian still hadn't woken up.

Brian had felt the weight of the bed shift, and he had woken up. He listened as Justin got up and gathered all of his things
together. Then, several minutes later, the shower was running, and as Justin took a shower, Brian remembered their night
together. It was their 4th time making love, and he knew Justin was still a bit scared. Justin had told him that no one else
knew that he was gay. He was glad to be able to share everything with someone, and Brian just smiled in reply. He hadn't
known what to say to the younger man at the time.

He sat up in his bed, as the phone began to ring. He grabbed it, and was surprised to hear the voice of Jennifer Taylor on
the other end of the line. "Hello? Mrs. Taylor, what can I do for you?" Brian asks, wondering if she'd found out that Justin
had spent the night. He wondered if she was calling to tell him to stay away from Justin. She wouldn't be the first. When
Brian didn't get a reply, he tried again. "Mrs. Taylor, hello?" Jennifer Taylor sighed softly. "We need to talk, Brian. I think
we should meet somewhere, since this can't wait."

Brian glanced at the clock, and then he said, "Sure, I'll meet you at 24th Drive in an hour." Jennifer Taylor sighed in relief.
"Thank you, Brian. I'll see you in an hour." Brian ran his hands over his face, and he threw the phone onto his bed. He got
up, and grabbed some clothes, before taking a shower. An hour later, Brian pulled up at 24th Drive. Stepping out the car,
he prepared himself to deal with Justin's mother. The woman was sitting at a table waiting for him, when he walked up.

When Brian reached the table, Jennifer got up, and she shook his hand. Brian barely resisted the urge to check and see
if she was packing. After shaking Mrs. Taylor's hand, he took a seat and waited for the woman to speak. "Brian, I have
called you here, because something is wrong with Justin. I know that the two of you are both friends, and I know that
you are gay. I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds, by saying this, but I don't think you're a very good influence on
my son. I just recently found out that you're gay. I'm not comfortable with him being in your presence." She said softly.

Brian resisted the urge to tell the woman that her worries were way past overdue. That Justin was in fact gay, and that
they had already slept together 4 times. However, the only thing words that left his mouth, was the question of, "What
does Justin want?" When the woman only sighed in anger, she said, "Justin doesn't know what he wants. He's still trying
to make sense of things, and he doesn't need you around to complicate things." Brian got to his feet. He had had enough
of being insulted. "Look Mrs. Taylor, Justin can make up his own mind. Why don't you talk to him about your concerns?"

Brian didn't even give the woman a chance to answer his question. He walked away, and got back into his car. He drove
around for a few hours, and then went back home. Pulling into the drive, Brian was surprised to find out that a light was
already on inside his house. He walked inside, and sighed in annoyance, when he saw Justin sitting at his table. "What're
you doing here?!" Brian asked. Justin looked hurt, so he softened his expression. "I'm sorry. I just spoke with your mother."

Justin began to get worried. "And what did she say?" Brian sighed, and he took off his jacket, hanging it up, as he walked
over to the counter, and leaned on it. "She pretty much told me to stay away from you. Why would she do that? You've
over 18, a legal adult, so why does she care who you date?" Justin stared at the floor. Brian felt the bottom drop out of
his stomach. "You are over 18, right?" When Justin didn't answer the question, Brian swore in anger. "Oh! Dammit Justin!"

Justin began to get scared at Brian's anger. "No, no I'm not. I'm 16 years old." Brian began to swear again, as he
felt himself losing control. "Why the hell didn't you tell me you're 16?!" Justin shrugged. "I didn't think it mattered."
Brian growled. "Didn't matter?! I could get arrested, Justin!" He shouted in anger. "I thought that you already knew
the truth. I thought you didn't care..." Brian looked at Justin. "Get out." Justin's lower lip trembled. "But Brian," Brian
shook his head. "GET THE FUCK OUT, JUSTIN!" When Justin grabbed his things and left, Brian threw the table at the
door, and he swore some more.

The End.
