Can Hardly Wait

Summary:

Will Trudy find the man of her dreams?

Work Text:

Trudy smiled, as the events from the previous night came back to her. She and Jack had made love. It was the first time
that they had been intimate, and she wondered how Jack was taking it. The mere fact that they had spent a night alone
together, was mind blowing. Opening her eyes, she got up, and grabbing her clothes from the closet, went take a shower.
Salene, May, and Mouse had watched Brady for her last night. Trudy had just picked up her daughter two hours ago, and
now Brady was sleeping. Trudy smiled.

Jack rolled over in his bed, and he slowly began to wake up. As he opened his eyes, he got up, and when the blankets fell
away, was embarassed to find himself completely naked. Jack grabbed the blankets an ran to get some clothes. However,
when he opened the door a few minutes later, the sound of water already running, got his attention. "Damn." Jack mutters
softly. So he waited in his room for an hour, until the bathroom was free. Slipping on his robe, Jack bolted out of his room,
and into the bathroom, quickly closing the door behind himself.

Trudy walked back into her room, closing the door behind her. She began to change, and smiled, when Brady rolled over in
the bed. Trudyl oved her daughter more than anything in the world. When she finished changing, there was a knock on her
door. Smiling, Trudy opened the door, and was happy to find Jack standing before her, in the hall. Jack was standing in the
hall, drying his hair with a towel. Trudy motioned for Jack to come inside her room, and he did. Walking in Trudy's room, Jack
closed the door softly behind him.

He grinned at Trudt, and a few minutes later, his lips were on hers, and it felt so right. Trudy knew that Brady wasn't going
to wake up, so she let Jack kiss her. The feel of Jack's lips on her own, was enough to make Trudy feel wonderful. When the
kiss ended, they were both surprised at the passion that came from it. Jack pulled Trudy close, when she was about to get
up. He kissed her again, wanting more, but knowing that now was not the time for it. They were just getting back together
again, after having broken up for three weeks.

They had been arguing about the fact that Amber, Jay, and Bray, their three leaders, needed Jack to be in the line of fire
once again, and Trudy wasn't happy. She kept asking Jack to say no, but he wouldn't. The warriors needed to be kept in
check, and once again, since Jack, Ellie, Jay, and Ved, were the only ones who were good at computers, with Jay and Jack
having the more experience dealing with this kind of thing. But after last night, things between the two of them, were going
good again, if at least for a while.

They had come to reach an agreement. Jack would do what Jay, Amber, and Bray needed him to do, but the only catch, was
that Jay had to act as Jack's bodyguard. Anywhere that Jack went, while leaving the Mall, Jay was to go with him for a type
of protection. Trudy still thought it was a bad idea, especially after having to deal with two sets of Techno problems for two
years. Jack sighed softly. He knew that Trudy was still very upset with his decision to help. But he would deal with it. All that
mattered was that Trudy and Brady, and all of their friends were safe.

That was all that mattered to Jack right now. Taking Trudy's hand into his own, he said, "Trudy, I know that you're upset with
me for choosing to go along with things, but really, it's for the best. This is about safety." Trudy nodded, and tears were falling
from her eyes. "I know, but Jack, I'm worried that you are going to go out there, and end up getting hurt." She wiped her eyes.
"I have already lost so much, and Brady too. We don't want to lose you." Jack pulled Trudy into a hug, and then he kissed her
gently on the lips. Pulling away, he said, "Look, I might get hurt, and I might not."

Jack squeezed Trudy's hands gently. "What matters is if you and Brady are gonna be waiting for me when I get back." Trudy
nodded, and this time she squeezed Jack's hand. With a smile, she asked, "How are you feeling about your new assignment
today?" Jack kissed Trudy. Then he walked over to where Brady was, sleeping in the bed. He leaned down and kissed her on
the forehead. Then, as Jack walked over to the door and opened it, he said, "Can hardly wait." His words were sarcastic, but
there was a grin on his face. After hugging Trudy, he left the Mall, to work on his assignment.
