Jayne's Way

The sedatives were wearing off slowly. Jayne could fire a gun, no problem. Getting up and walking was another matter, disregarding bullet wounds in the legs. Jayne tried to stand but fell with a thud. Kaylee helped the warrior up.
Kaylee said, "listen up, Butch. You're going to need a couple of days rest before you're up to speed."
"Men!" Jayne swore, "Mother warned me about those deceitful, lying, despicable, manipulative, weak, dishonest SCUM. But did I listen to the wisdom of the Elders who banned men from our colony? No-oooo! I should have stayed on Sappho."
