Getting Over It

The wormhole collapsed only a few seconds after he exited. It was strange, really, being back on Earth. He's been on the run from psycho peacekeeper captains for almost a year. It was weird just suddenly not having to run, suddenly not having to hide his shoes from his "roommies." He could finally imagine not having to be on the run now that he didn't have to imagine it. He could just imagine having a normal life...with a wife and kids...maybe Alex, he really cared about her.
He walked up to her door, ready to surprise her...She wasn't home, but he let himself in using the key hidden in the plant. Eventually, she got home...She opened the door...and as soon as she saw him she did the last thing he'd have expected: She started singing.
At first, I was afraid...I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side
But then I spent so many nights
just thinking how you did me wrong
And I grew strong
I learned how to get along
And so you're back! From Outer Space
I just walked in to find you here
with that sad look upon your face
I should have changed that stupid lock,
I should have made you leave your key

"I GOT OVER YOU, JOHN!!!!!!!"
She kicked him out and slammed the door in his face, and he yelled "That's okay, I love Aeryn more anyway!"
Then he woke up.
He remembered the nightmare vividly. It wasn't a nightmare of having Alex dump him, it was one of not being able to get back to Aeryn.
Nightmares serve purposes, right?
He had to get over not being able to get home and appreciate what he did have...
A Really Weird (And Bad) Beginning...
Notes: Having the entire fanfic/TV episode/story be a dream has really done to death, right? But I couldn't stop myself, especially when my muse bribed me with the fact that it took about five microns...sorry, minutes to write. The song? It's "I will Survive" by D. Fekaris and F. Perren
