MINE ALONE
"Of all the passions you have made
Light touches from your tranquil gaze
Love's token to my heart more true
In just a look through eyes of blue.
Time's arrow does a wayward path
Rent the stars, t'is all we have
And yet our riches far outweigh
The sorrows we take to our grave.
Shadowed, echoed footsteps run
'Twixt Moon and Star and errant Sun,
In lightening strokes where all is twirled
Within the fashion of new worlds.
Out of the debris' solar winds
Empty their wiles to capture him
That all that fall beneath those wiles
Lie trapped and lost within that smile.
I resisted, filled with fear
That such a creature felt so dear.
Emotions tagged to his sweet heart
Afraid to stay, afraid to part.
Now all the passions he bequeathes
Have made a different soul of me,
No longer lonely, broken shards
More than the sum of all my parts.
Made holy, cherished in his arms
A simple touch, a smile that charms -
Defeated without a single shot
Does he know or care the cost?
I look, I fall, I love at last
His breath in me a sweet repast.
The stars our lights to guide us home
Where love is mine and mine alone...."
