Wanted to say two nice things about your story: applause is deserved for actually telling a story in which something happens to the characters other than the sex; and for the, new to me, juxtaposition of the X-Men/Smallville universes. They fit together very well.
Author's Response: Lol, thanks! It annoys me that I lost the muse for this story - I made the mistake of trying to tie the story into the earthquake that happened in the Bat books, bought the novel adaptation, but it just couldn't hold my attention long enough to get enough details. Thanks for the review!
I'm a continuity freak and came up against a time discrepancy. In chapter one you say it's been about 10 years since Lex met Whitney but in chapter 3 you say Whitney is 25. He couldn't have been any younger than 17 when Lex met him. (Or did you mean to say that Whitney made detective at 25 and that's not his actual age when they meet up again?)
Author's Response: You know, I didn't know how young was too young for a cop to make detective, but he's supposed to be around 27/28 in the story. I didn't want him as a rookie detective even though he is younger than his partner. I try to avoid giving specific ages in most of my stories, but thank you for pointing out that potential confusion. When I edit I'll see if I can make things more clear.
Great story, I'm happy to read that there is a sequel in progress!
Author's Response: Thank you. Everyone should write Whitney (snap fingers)! The poor boy was barely there but had such great potential a writer can remold him however they wish. I have another Clark/Whitney/Lex story that I started first and I want to finish, but I hate leaving a story undone, so this earthquake will happen!
I have really enjoyed this series. I am looking forward to the next series.
Author's Response: Glad to hear, and yes, the story will continue. Just need to decide how loyal I'm going to adhere to the original Gotham earthquake.
I enjoyed the story. I hope you write more as this is a very differant twosome and one that is very hot now that you made me think about it. Good job
Author's Response: Oh, there will certainly be more! I have another story, a threesome with Lex/Clark/Whitney, and I will put it up once I get the ending worked out. I'm finding that is the hardest part of writing for myself, feeling satisfied with an ending. On the Road is a two parter because I have to read the Batman earthquake story. I bought the book and the thing is huge!
