The New Hunter

Chapter 1

I stretched and rolled my tired shoulders. I had pulled a new record of seven zombies in one night. I was more than ready to quite for the night. The tightness was not due to fatigue, at least not the physical kind. The last few months, hell the last few years had been a product of to much stress. I think if I hadn't had the vampire marks I would have died from stress alone a long time ago. Now though I had more to worry about than monsters and faceless killers. No now I had to deal with the Arduer and the new family it had brought me. Micah and his pard were mine now. It still shocked me how well the two groups had melded together. Even more shocking was the fact that Damien had mergered so completely as well. One of the few regrets I still had was the loss of Richard. I can still feel the pain of the words he spoke to me the last time we were together.
His rage at my having to execute Jacob bled out onto me. He called me a monster and told me that I was a blood whore. He said that I enjoyed killing because it gave me a sexual rush. To my shock and horror I cried in front of them all. The wolves, the rats and the pard. It had been a group execution. Even the vampires were there, because everyone had suffered because of Jacob's betrayal. I turned my back on him and walked away. I'm proud to say that though I cried I didn't break.

I have seen him since then at meetings for the pack. I am after all still his Lupa and his Bolverek. We do not speak to one another unless it involves pack business or the shifter council.

Surprisingly this had worked out well, though I still can't figure out how I had ended up in charge of the council. We've had several months of peace. The pack, the pard, and the vampires are all safe. Things seem to be going well between Micah and Jean-Claude. Both accept Nathaniel's rol in my life better than I do. I think the ardor and having Nathaniel as my pomme-de-sang have been the hardest adjustments in my life. Mostly because I feared losing Jean-Claude as I had lost Richard. I smile and sigh a little as I think of my vampire. Jean-Claude accepts me for who I am and loves me. I can accept that love now without feeling as though I should run. That has been one of Micah's gifts, he too accepts me and has given me a family to love and care for.

Thinking of Jean-Claude reminds me that I'm still standing in a grave yard instead on my way to the Circus to spend the night with him. I turned away from the uncaring dead and made my way back to my car. As I reached my car something large and heavy flew over the jeep and landed a few feet away. Then a young girl appeared in front of me. A glowing young girl. I pulled my gun and trained it on her. She smiled gently at me, then went to the man on the ground. I coiled out my power out to see what she was. I gasped in surprise. This creature, whatever she was was old and powerful. She wasn't however a vampire.

"Don't move!'' I snarled.

"Will you kill me if I do?"

"I will if I have to." I snapped I hate to be found amusing.

"Even though I just saved your life?"

I blinked. "Saved my life?"

She nodded. "This creature was going to attack and kill you. I could not allow that." She then turned back to the body in the ground.

To my stunned amazement she was glowing brighter. I stared at her in shock and blurted out, "What the FUCK are you?"

She let out a delighted laugh.

I shivered her laugh was both innocent and seductive at the same time. It affected me the way Jean-Claude's voice did, but I could sense she wasn't trying to do voice tricks. "I will see you again Anita Blake."

And with that she disappeared. I don't mean flew away or ran away. No I mean with a shimmer of blue light she just disappeared.

"Well Fuck! What could go wrong now?"

On second thought don't answer that.

Chapter 2

I shook my head and quickly got into my jeep. What was I going to do with the dead body? Before I could think of anything flames burst from the direction of the corpse and it disappeared. I gaped in astonishment. Okay this was a nine outta ten on my weird shit-o-meter. I sat blankly for several minutes, then finally started the car and drove to the Circus. I needed a hot shower and some sleep. Unfortunately I wasn't going to get any of those things.

The moment I parked the jeep in the back lot Zane was running to me. "Anita! Anita!"

I frowned and met him half way. "What's wrong?"

"There's some girl downstairs she just appeared out of nowhere. Jean-Claude hasn't been able to get through to you and neither has Damien. She said you were fine but we were worried when we couldn't reach you. Micah tried to force her to tell us where you were, but she put the whammy on him and now he and most of the others in the room are sitting still as statues. Asher included."

I swore and hurried inside with him. I still get the creeps every time I go down the stairs to the throne room. I took a deep breath and ran down the stairs. I was still amazed that I could easily
keep up with Zane.

When we reached the chamber I froze in astonishment. Not just because a good portion of people in the room were frozen like statues.

The girl from earlier was there. She looked over at me in amusement.

Jean-Claude rose from his chair smoothly and glided to me. "Hello Ma Petite, I am glad to see you are well. As you can see we have a guest." His voice was carefully neutral.

That alerted me to the fact that he was worried. Before I could respond she unfroze everyone
in the room. They all looked around in confusion. When they saw me they responded with relief.

Micah came to me and kissed my cheek.

"Are you all right?" We asked together.

We both nodded. There was warm laughter from the direction of the girl. We all turned. She was sitting in one the wing chairs with her legs crossed watching us with amusement. Asher stalked towards her and the laughter died. "Easy sweetheart, I only froze you before. I really would
rather not harm anyone. I saved Anita this evening. Ask her." She never took her eyes off of Asher.

"It's true." He did not turn to me, but the tension seeped away.

"Why don't you come sit down and I will explain why I have come into your home this way."

We looked at one another and then walked to the couch and sat down. Asher sat in the chair closest to her. There was a strange expression on his face. "You are a Fey."

She smiled brilliantly at him. "Your partially right there. I am actually an Elemental. My kind came in existence many thousands of years ago. We are the product of a fey/lycanthrope joining. The other fey shun us. Even the Queen of Air and Darkness does not acknowledge us."

"Why tell us who you are?" Nathaniel asked, surprising everyone.

She smiled at him. There was a genuine warmth there. The way she looked at him made me tense. I noticed she looked at Asher the same way. It was a combination of amusement and admiration.

"I tell you because there is another Elemental in town. One who is the dark version of my kind. He is evil. He is made up of the cross between a vampire and a fey. The fey was dark court and pure evil. They can only reproduce through rape. He also has the ability to infect evil into humans. One of his favorite things to do is kidnap and torture submissive vampires, but he will attack lycanthropes. I followed him here. I wanted to warn you before he attacked one of your children. The creature that attacked Anita this evening was not under his control. However it is only a matter of time."

I looked at her in stunned silence. "Why not go to the police? Why come to us?"

"The police are human and would be no match for him. I come to you because they are your
vampires and because you are on the local shifter council. You can warn the lycanthropes and protect the other children at the same time. Trust me when I tell you that you do not want him getting a hold of any of them." She then looked over at Nathaniel. "He is almost totally submissive. Imagine what would happen to him if he was with someone who had no stopping point. He is beginning to become less submissive. If Azriel were to get his hands on this child he would destroy everything in him. Then he would send him back to you and he would force you to be the one to kill Nathaniel."

I scowled, "I would never kill him."

"If you care for him you would."

I gulped and felt sick to my stomach. Her voice had held pain, desolation and a icy rage.

"Have you had to do this?" Jason asked softly.

I flinched hoping he hadn't pushed his luck to far.

To my surprise she answered. "Yes, because of him I had to kill my own child. Ashton was only three. But he had developed his powers. He was insane and killing anything that came into his path. To save others I had no choice but to kill him."

Asher closed his eyes. He knew what it was like to lose someone that was a part of you.

I took a deep breath. I couldn't imagine having to kill my own child. "I will hunt this creature and destroy it. Of that you can be sure. I only wanted to warn you." I frowned again. "You have to go to a friend of mine. He's a policeman, he needs to know what's going on. Just in case this guy starts to infect the locals."

She looked at me for several moments then nodded. "Very well I will meet with your policeman. In return I want a favor."

I sighed there was always a catch. "What would that be?"

"Your promise that you will talk to the local shifter leaders and tell them I want to meet with them and explain the threat they are under."

"That is all you want?" Asher asked suspicious.

She smiled, this time it was impish. "No but I would never try to force you or Nathaniel into my bed."

He looked at her in surprise. She winked at him. She was flirting. "I must be going now, until
tomorrow." Then she rose from her chair and in a lightning fast move caught Asher up in a kiss. When she released him she placed a gentle kiss on his scarred check and disappeared.

Asher touched his check and blinked back tears. He then spun and walked out of the room. I desperately hoped she was not playing with him.

Chapter 3

I called Dolph early the next morning to let him know that I had someone I wanted him to him to meet. He wanted me to tell him what it was about, but I put him off saying I would explain at lunch. I wondered if she would show up.

Nathaniel, Micah, Merle and I all went back to my house to wait for her to show. If she would. Dolph was suppose to be there by noon. He was also bringing Zerbrowski. I wondered how the Fey and he would get along. I shivered at what could happen between them. Fey were notoriously short tempered and Zerbrowski had a weird sense of humor. I was still thinking about the way she had kissed Asher the night before and what she had said about Nathaniel. I also realized after she left that she had never told us her name.

At noon Dolph and Zerbrowski arrived together. Zerbrowski winked at me and put a stuffed penguin on the sofa as he walked by. I sighed and shook my head. They both grinned at me. I had asked everyone to leave so that I could talk to them with my mysterious guest.

"So who is it you wanted to meet me?"

Before I could answer there was a soft shimmer to the air and the Fey was there.

"FUCK!" Zerbrowski shouted jumping out of his chair.

She smiled at him and laughed softly. "Hello to you too." Her eyes sparkled with humor. "I would truly consider that Detective, but I think your wife would mind." She laughed again and sat down.

I glared at her in annoyance. "Don't you ever use a door?" No.

Dolph was staring at her in quietly. "What the hell are you?" Zerbrowski choked out.

"She's an elemental fey." He answered.

She smiled at him while Zerbrowski and I gapped at him in surprise. "You know who I am?"

He nodded, "I have a friend who works in fey relations in Oklahoma. He said that you killed a
fey that gone into a small town and started infecting the humans. Making them maim and kill young children."

She nodded sadly. "I only regret that his death came so quickly. I would have preferred to kill him slowly, perhaps take a day or two, but you know that goes."

We all gulped. She had spoken matter of factly. Now I'm as close to being a psychopath as you can get. But she was even scarier than Edward. If Death met up with her he'd either try to kill her or dump Donna and marry her.

"Why are you here?" Dolph asked.

"There is another dark elemental here. I came to stop and kill him."

Zerbrowski straightened up in his chair. "One of those things that infected that town are here?"

"Yes. I have a hunch he is looking to reproduce. It's why I went to Anita and the Master of the City first."

"Why would this have anything to do with them?" Dolph asked perplexed.

"His kind of elemental can only reproduce with vampires. He will take a young male vampire
rape and torture him. Then once he has broken him he will place a spell on him, rape him again and impregnate him. The vampire will be used to give sustenance to the child. Once it is time for it to be born he will bring his child into the world. The child will then feed off the vampires power and essence before it dies."

I was not the only one who looked appalled by that idea. "What is the age of the vampires he usually goes after?" I asked. My voice had been harsh. How was I to tell Jean-Claude what she had just told me. Not to mention Malcolm the Billy Graham of the undead.

"Anyone under one hundred."

Christ that meant Dead Dave was at risk as well. I would go see him tonight and explain what was going on. But first I had to tell Jean-Claude and Malcolm.

"What can we do to stop him?"

"Nothing. Your human. I recommend though that you find some way to protect yourself against attack. Carry lead bullets, salt and keep your cross on. Also he will probably move only at night. He is descended from vampires so he has their weaknesses as well as his own."

Dolph scowled. I could tell he didn't like to be told there was nothing he could do to stop this creature. Zebrowski was about to comment when she suddenly stood.

"Get down and do not move." She lashed out with power and sent us to the floor.

We all three swore and looked up at her. Before we could say anything else my sliding glass door shattered and two men came through the door.

She threw some sort of power ball at them and they collapsed only to be replaced by a group of shifters. To my shock they were a combination of all the types of shifters in the city. Again she lashed out with her power. They fell to the ground unconscious.

"This will not work Azriel, you will not defeat me or these people."

Suddenly there was an overpowering wave of magic in the air.

Zerbrowski and I howled as it rolled over our bodies. Then just as quickly as it began it stopped. We lay there gasping and holding our heads. She turned to us in alarm. Quickly touching our faces. Whatever she did made the pain disappear.

"I'm sorry I did not mean to hurt you. I had to attack with my full power to break his power." She turned and waved her hand. The group that had attacked us was transported further into the room. My door was back to normal.

With another wave of her hand the lycanthropes were back in human form. The two humans lay silent as well.

Dolph and Zerbrowski looked at them in amazement.

Finally Dolph cleared his throat. "I'll call a paddy wagon to pick these people up and transport them to the jail."

"Why?"

"They tried to kill us." Dolph said in exasperation.

She shook her head. "No Azriel tried to kill us. They were infected by him. They had no idea what they were doing. When they come to they will be afraid and confused. You cannot punish them for being victims of mind control."

He sighed. "This is what we can expect until this creature is caught and killed?"

She nodded. "We will keep the shifters here until their Alpha's can come and retrieve them. However I recommend that you call an ambulance and transport the two humans to the hospital. I recommend a cat scan be performed. It is quite possible that he damaged their brains. The doctors will need to see what they can do to aide the children."

Zebrowski looked down at the two men. His face was grim. He then looked over at her. "How old are you?"

"I'm 2,000 years old. Do not worry detective I will not stop until he is dead."

Dolph and I both watched the two of them nod. Dolph looked at me in concern. The fey and
Zerbrowski seemed to have made a pact. Dolph shook his head wearily. This was not what he had expected out of this meeting.

Chapter 4

I sat in my kitchen chair staring at the local shifter leaders. The Fey leaned against the counter calmly watching them. Richard and Raphael watched her intently. I knew that none of them here happy to be there. Nor did they like a stranger knowing about them. Half the shifters in the room were still in the closet.

"Why did you call us here Anita?" Narcicuss asked suddenly.

The Fey grinned at him. Her laughter came softly.

I looked at her again. "Do you find every thing amusing?"

Her grin widened. "I'm 2,000 years old. After awhile a lot gets amusing." She commented dryly.

Everyone in the room looked at her in surprise.

"I'm the reason she has called you here Oba." He blinked at her.

The laughter had left her eyes. In its place was somber reflection. "In the bedrooms there is a member of each of your clans. They are sleeping off a rapid change and a severe trauma to their minds."

They looked at one another in confusion.

Raphael looked at me. "It's true they tried to kill us today. There is even a swanmane in the group."

Donavon jerked in looked at me sharply.

"Why can't we sense them?" Christine demanded.

Magic rippled through the room causing everyone to gasp. Then each group began to sense their charges.

"What happened today and why did you block them from us?" Richard demanded.

Each bodyguard in the room had come to defensive positions. Jamil growled at her.

She laughed. "You are very good at your job. However if you continue to threaten me I'll be forced to show you your place cub."

"Jamil, stand down." I ordered.

Shang-Da surprisingly did not react to her. He touched Jamil's arm.

"She is Fey, you do not want to press her patience."

We all looked at him in surprise.

"Fey are more dangerous than any creature I have ever met. You do not want her to put you in your place." He said solemnly.

"You sweet talker you. Keep that up and you'll turn my head."

I rolled my eyes in disbelief. "Do you always flirt?" I asked in exasperation.

"Of course!" I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing. I noticed I wasn't the only one.

"What is your name? Why are you here?"

She looked at Donovan. "My name is Blueskye Silvernight. I am here because a Dark Elemental has come here seeking to produce and I intend to kill him." Her voice had darkened and the air seemed to shiver.

"This Fey what did he do to you?"

I shook my head. Richard looked at me in question. I looked at Christine. She would not give up until the question was answered. I wondered if Blueskye would answer her.

"Because of him I was forced to kill a man that I loved."

Christine scowled. "This is all over a lover?" Her voice held scorn.

Blueskye straightened away from the cabinet. Her eyes had begun to glow slightly. "He was my son not my lover. Do not ever mock me again."

Christine paled and looked at the Fey with fear.

She wasn't the only one suddenly afraid. My palms had begun to sweat. Beside me Micah shifted. We all sat tensely waiting to see what she would do.

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. The light seemed to fade away. When she opened her eyes again they were normal. "Forgive me, I have not yet calmed from the battle this afternoon. Until I have cleansed myself my temper is a little short."

Christine nodded and apologized as well.

"Why did he attack our people?" Jane asked. She was a weredog.

"Because he hate's all lycanthrope's. He can only procreate by raping and impregnating a young male vamp. While my kind of Elemental can have children consensually with lycanthrope's. The
elemental hunter's like myself are a combination of an elemental and a lycanthrope joining. Because of this we are drawn to protect and join with lycanthropes. My family comes from a long line of lycanthropes. I have every kind of lycanthrope known running through my veins."

"So he attacked us out of jealousy and hatred?" Narcicuss asked.

She nodded. "He chose those that were not dominant because they do not have the ability to
protect themselves from him. It's also why he choses young vampire's." She frowned and her eyes darkened with memory. She turned and looked at us again. "The children are the product of terrible pain. The vampire suffers horribly. While many of you may not care about that I do. No one deserves what Azriel will do to the vampire." She looked away from them again. "My son was only three years old. His father died not a year into his life. Azriel killed him as well. I want vengeance for what he has done. But not at the expense of an innocent. The residents of this city are my main concern. He has the ability to turn accepting humans into vile killers. With your help and the help of the vampires and police of this city we can stop him. We must however work together." When she looked back us I could see the weight of rage and grief in her eyes. I knew then that no matter what happened I did not want to take her on. Somehow I did not think I would survive if I did.

Richard was frowning up at her. I took a deep breathe hoping he would agree to help. He was different today. The last time I had seen him I had just executed Jacob. There had been pain and rage in his eyes. I still haven't figured out who his anger was toward. I had said nothing. I left them to deal with Jacob's body. I looked at him now and saw grimness. He was blocking me so I had no idea what he was feeling.

Suddenly Blueskye straightened away from the counter where she had been leaning again. Before we could say anything she disappeared.

There was a sharp sound of everyone gasping. I didn't, I was getting used to it. I looked around me placidly. The others, except Shang-Da, where gaping at one another in surprise.

"Where did she go?" Donavon asked suddenly.

They all looked at me.

I shrugged.

Micah and Richard were looking at one another with keen dislike. With Richard it was jealously. With Micah it was rage for how Richard had made me feel after the last time we had made love. Micah had turned out to be a surprise for me. He was a lot smarter than he seemed. We had already decided to start recruiting more enforcers. As of right now there were only two. I looked over to the side and saw Merle coldly watching every one in the room. Mostly the wolves and the rats.

Just about the time I decided to break up the meeting there was a shimmer of light and the Fey was back. I gaped in surprise.

She was covered in blood and battered. She swayed slightly and looked around her in confusion.

"Well it looks like I made it back." She said somewhat bemusedly. Then she sank to the
floor. She was gasping slightly.

"Did your dark fey do this?" Richard asked as he knelt beside her.

She shook her head. "Is there a fresh water spring near here?"

"In the woods." Micah answered.

She placed her hand on his forehead then disappeared again.

CHAPTER 5

For a moment no one moved. Then Richard threw his head back and scented the air. The others followed his example. Micah, though, stood and brought me to my feet as well. Together we left the house and followed the path in the trees to the small creek. When we reached it I could see her floating under the water. For a moment I wondered if she had drowned. Then I remembered what she was.

However Richard started forward to help her when Shand-Da grabbed his arm. "You do not want to startle her, she may kill you."

Everyone froze and stared at him.

Suddenly I was wishing we had stayed at the house. Micah seemed to be thinking the same thing because he pulled me backwards. As one the others backed away as well.

Before we could decide to stay or to go she suddenly burst from the water. She hovered for a few moments before drifting over to the bank and landing. She looked around curiously. Then with a smile she said, "I take it you still had questions." She threw her hair over her shoulder and began to walk towards the house.

I fell into step beside her. The others followed behind us. I could feel Richards reaction to her even though he was trying to block me. It was the first time in months that one of us had not been able to block the other. He was aroused by her nakedness and the power that seemed to pore off of her.

"Um, are you forgetting something?"

She looked at me in confusion.

"Cloths."

She looked down, shrugged and waved her hand. She was dressed in a light green dress with spaghetti straps. She wore no shoes. Her hair was dry an braided down her back. I had many more questions, but decided to wait until they reached the house. She stopped suddenly, cocking her head to the side. Then with a smile she continued. It took only a few moments to reach the house. I saw that Nathaniel and Zane had come out to meet us. They must have arrived after we left.

She smiled and quickened her pace. When we reached them she winked at them.

"Good Evening boys." She drawled.

I rolled my eyes at her flirtation.

They were both smiling at her. Then to my surprise they knelt in front of her and greeted her as though she were an alpha. No one said anything until they rose.

She then looked at me. My shock must have shown on my face. "I told you I have lycanthropy. My chosen form is a panther."

I blinked.

"Chosen?" Christen asked.

She smiled and went to one of my deck chairs. After she sat Nathaniel went to her side. He knelt down beside her. Zane knelt beside me after I sat down.

"Because I am Fey I can chose any form I wish. I am not at the mercy of the moon nor do I have any of the allergies that most shifters suffer from. My mother was a bear, my father a tiger and my womb father prefers the wolf as his chosen form."

As this digested Jamil suddenly asked, "Womb father?"

She smiled sadly. "Yes my mother was critically shot by a bounty hunter while pregnant with me. There was nothing my father could do to save her. So he performed a spell to prolong her life so that a transfer spell could be performed. A woman could not be found to take her place. Since my father could not perform the spell on himself my god father ended up carrying me."

"So your mother was a true lycanthrope." Zane asked.

She nodded. She reached over and began to stroke Nathaniels hair. She had a sad, far away look on her face. "So you can shift at will and still bare children." Narcisuss asked.

"Yes."

This was all very strange.

"I didn't know such things were possible." I murmured.

She laughed. "Anita I am over 2,000 years old and I am constantly learning something new. Our world is fluid, there will always be something new to learn. One of the reasons that there is not
much known about my kind or Azriel's kind is that neither the Light or the Dark Fey are acknowledged by either court. In their eyes we are not even fey. We do not follow the same gods nor do we believe the same as them. We were created through the interference of the Goddess Aphrodite. We follow the ancient gods of Greece."

I mulled this amazing information over. "Are you bound by the treaty with Jefferson?"

"No, we were given permanent diplomatic immunity. We can travel from country to country without problem."

No one said anything for several minutes then. "Anita, I must tell you that I will be shifting forms while in your town. However I will not be hunting. I do not need to do that. I only shift because it helps to counter balance negative forces and because it brings me pleasure."

I nodded. What else could I do. It wasn't as though I could stop her.

She swung her legs back to the ground. She leaned over and kissed Nathaniel gently on the forehead and then stood. "I must be going for now. I will be back later this evening. Please tell Jean-Claude I will be by to see him."

I nodded my head and watched her disappear.

Chapter 6

Azriel smiled down at his recently awakened pet. He could feel its fear and rage. The pain of the chains burning into its wrists. This one was young and sweet. He would feed well this night. Added to this was the fact that the young wolf was also a pet of The Master of the City. Because of this he would not drive his new play thing crazy. Instead he would play with him for awhile, then return him. He laughed softly at the wonderful images running through his head. A lycanthrope was almost as good as having a vampire to feed off of.

Jason thrashed against the chains holding him down. The demented laughter filling him with greater fear and panic. The pain in his wrists was unbelievable. The silver was burning into his skin. If he survived he would carry the scars as a reminder of tonight. He shuddered and tried to figure out what happened to him. All he could remember was walking towards his car to go get Zane and bring him back to the club. Then a man appeared out of nowhere. Before he could say anything he lost consciousness. Now he was in this room, chained to a bed and very afraid. He was angry that he had allowed anyone to take him unaware. He sniffed the air trying to memorize everything about his attacker. What he smelled sent a sharper stab of fear through him. He knew now that there was no escape for him. The creature smelled like a vampire and like old magic. His stomach clenched as he realized that this was the Dark Fey that the Blueskye had warned them about. Her words came back to haunt him. He closed his eyes and whimpered. He desperately called out to Anita through her connection as his Lupa. He realized with a start that they fey was blocking his link. He couldn't even call to his lover for help. He looked around him wildly when he heard laughter again.

"Time to play little pet." Azriel said as he walked into view. He swayed in pleasure as the fear rolled off the boy.

When the cub saw what he was carrying in his hand his fear rose, causing Azriel's cock to harden. He was carrying a knife in his hand. Jason shuddered with terror. The knife was bronze and curved at the end. It was nearly two inches long. Jason knew with a fear driven certainty that the man meant to use it on him.

"You'll notice that the blade is not silver, pet. I want to make sure you heal from our first round of games. Perhaps later I will switch to silver, perhaps not."

Jason cried out silently for help.

Azriel smiled with dark glee as he plunged the knife to the hilt into Jason's stomach. He drank in the boys helpless screams of pain and fear.

As Jason began to black out his body writhed under the force of a spell. Azreil ran his fingers down Jason's cheek leaving behind a trail on blood. His finger nails cut into the soft smooth skin. "I can't let you sleep love. The spell will keep you alert for our fun and games." He twisted the knife deeper, making Jason scream again. Azriel pulled the knife from Jason and licked it clean.

Humming in pleasure at the boys taste. He then lashed out with the blade again and chuckled as the knife scraped bone. Jason could only scream and thrash as the fey lashed out time and again carving his flesh and scraping his bones. For Azriel it was a feed of banquet proportions. His body was taunt with desire and his powers were filling.

With a thought he flipped Jason onto his stomach reveling in the cry of pain this action produced. He then began his ministrations on the boys back and thighs. He stabbed the knife into each of the boys taunt ass cheeks and tore it out again.

Jason was reduced to pitiful screams and incoherent begging.

With a slash of his blade he tore the flesh from his spine. Laughing as the boy began to wretch with his pain.

Finally, after what seemed like days to Jason, the fey stopped carving his flesh. With a start he found himself upright and hanging from his wrists. His feet dangled off the ground and he was confused.

Azriel ran his hands down the boys ruined and bloody flanks. "You really are a naughty boy, teasing me that way. Flaunting your body and arousing me with those delicious screams. I guess its up to me to teach you what happens to those who tease." He whispered into Jason's ear as he pressed his swollen flesh against bleeding skin.

Jason began to thrash weakly. "NO! PLEASE?! NO!" Jason sobbed when Azriel laughed again.

Azriel gripped his pets hips tighter and thrust his aching flesh into the hilt.

Shuddering in pleasure as the boy shrieked in pain and anguish. He changed the angle of his thrusts and laughed again as he hit the boys prostate on his next thrust. He thrust slower, deciding to prolong his pleasure and the boys pain.

Jason wept in humiliation as his body betrayed him. The pain was incredible, but his attacker kept hitting his pleasure spot. Tears spilled down his cheeks and he silently prayed that it would be over soon. He was to far gone to realize that he was begging for it to stop. Azriel was thrusting faster now the boy was feeding and sating his lust. He formed his hands into claws and began to rake his hands down the boys sides. Jason tried to block out the sounds of the fey was making as he pounded into his body.

Suddenly the man howled out his completion and bite down on his collar bone. Jason shrieked in pain as the bone broke and his bowls burned with the force of the mans orgasm. Azriel hung on
to the boy thrusting out his completion. As he pulled out he noted with satisfaction the fresh blood pouring from his lovers anus.

Then to Jason's horror Azriel leaned forward and whispered in his ear. "You were wonderful, now its time to get me hard again."

For months afterward Jason would wake screaming at the memory of what happened to him in the three hours that followed those words. In that time his focus narrowed down to pain and humiliation. Blood and screaming.

Zane shifted uneasily in the back of the cab. Unable to understand why he was so anxious. Jason had never shown up to get him from the Circus. Finally afraid to anger Anita or Jean-Claude he had called a cab and headed to Danse Macabe. Now pulling into the lot he could see Jason's car sitting in the lot.

Maybe something had happened and Jason couldn't make it, maybe the fey had come early. He paid the cabby and jumped out as soon as he could. He hurried into the club and ran to the back.

Cherry looked up in surprise as he ran past her and the other members of the pard. When he reached the office he quickly hurried inside looking around him hopefully. When he didn't see Jason his anxiety grew. He couldn't smell him in the building. He was unsure why this scared him. Anita raised an eyebrow at him.

"Where's Jason? I told him that you two were suppose to come back here straight away." She scolded.

Zane felt dizzy. "He's not here?" He asked fearfully, even though he knew the answer.

I scowled at the look on Zane's face. "How did you get here?" I asked suddenly picking up on his panic.

"I took a cab, Jason never showed. His cars still in the lot." He answered uncertainly.

I felt a stone settle in my stomach. I knew Jason was a pain, but he wouldn't play like that. Not with a new baddy in town. After what happened the month before our carefree boy was a somber young man.

I still cursed Richard for it. I tried to reach him with my connection as his Lupa. Fear speared through me as I felt something block me. I looked over at Jean-Claude, "Try to reach him." I ordered hoarsely.

He did as I ordered a look of shock on his face as he to felt the block. "Ma Petite I think you should call Richard."

I nodded and did as he said.

Richard sat in his chair staring into space and thinking about all he had learned that day. His mind churned over the way he had felt in her company.

For the first time in months his mind had been clear. The anger and the rage he felt seemed to be disappearing. In its place was a cold empty feeling. He could also feel worry and anxiety and he knew it wasn't his own. Anita was upset about something. Probably the same thing he was. The things he had heard Blueskye say both worried and intrigued him. He had always wanted to meet a Fey, but had never had the chance. Then Anita and Jason had told him about there experience and he decided it was a bad idea. What was really bothering him was his actions of the last few months. First his breaking up with Anita the way he had. Then he had allowed himself to nearly be killed in the fight to free Cherry and Micah. However the worst thing for him was the memory of what he had done to two people he honestly loved. First saying the things he had to Anita after Jacob's execution. Then ordering Jason beaten by Jamil and Shang-Da after he had learned of Jason's part in controlling the Ardeur the second time it had blown up. He was sure he would never get over the look of pain and acceptance on Jason's face as they beat him. Or of the look of hatred on Anita and Damien's faces as he dumped him at their feet. Jean-Claude had barely stopped himself from killing Richard. Though it had reinforced to the pack that they were no longer on a democratic system. He was Ulfric and it was time he behaved as such. The only secret he had really kept the lst few months was about his connection to Anita. It was the one thing that was feeding his rage and despair. He and Anita where truly a mated pair. He had not realized it until Anita had sex with Micah the first time. He had felt them then and he had felt it every time since. It shattered him. The worst part was that he kept pushing her. Even though she thought she was shielded from him he could feel her. He knew her every emotion. Every emotion was his as well. He felt her contentment, her pleasure and her pain. He didn't want this connection had even asked Vern about it. Vern had told him that Anita was a true mate on all levels. Richard wondered often how Anita would respond to the knowledge that she was the true mate of three very different men. He no longer thought she would run again.

He was brought out of his musings by one of his newest cubs rushing into the room. "Anita's on the phone, she says its an emergency."

The girl was anxious and afraid. He felt a stab of guilt, the last few months had really been hard
on the pack. They were all afraid of him. Jamil handed him the phone. He watched as Ana hurried from the room.

"Anita?"

"Richard try to reach Jason with your link."

Richard frowned but did as she ordered. His eyes widened in shock. "Are you testing to see if you can block him from me?"

"No damnit! I was hoping you would be able to reach him. He was suppose to go get Zane, but he never showed. Zane just got here and told me that his car is still here, but he's not. Jean-Claude and I are being blocked as well."

He flinched as her emotions scalded him. She was angry and afraid.

"Do you think he is with the fey?"

"I don't know, I only know he's gone." she snapped in frustration.

"Where are you?"

"At the Danse."

"Fine I'm on my way." He hung up the phone and raced towards the door with Shang-Da and Jamil behind him.

Blueskye was running through the city trying to track down the source of the pained cries. She knew that they were from one of Azriel's victims. Thankfully he had not realized he could weaken her by directing his victim's pain directly into her mind. She had been searching for nearly an hour. Anita had tried calling her several times in the last four hours, but the pain of the youngling kept her searching. She was afraid she would not find them before it was to late. As she reached the source of the pained cries they stopped. She flashed into the room and nearly dropped to her knees. Even after so many years of battling Dark Fey, what they did to their victims still shattered her. She sheathed the sword she had drawn in case of battle. The message on the wall made her swear and snarl. "How do you like my gift?" She shuddered and went to the ruined mess left hanging from its feet in silver chains. She shuddered again and resisted the urge to weep. With a thought the chains were gone and he was in her arms. When she touched him his thoughts and memory's became her own.

Horror filled her as she realized that the poor child in her arms was one of Anita's charges. She wanted to take the time to heal him, but knew it was to dangerous. Instead she transferred them to where Anita was calling her from.

When I saw the soft shimmer of blue light I was relieved. Blueskye had finally heard my call and come to us. My relief died when I saw her and the body she was holding.

"I need the couch." she said quietly.

Everyone sitting scrambled to get out of her way. Everyone, but Damien.

He rushed up to her crying out Jason's name. We all looked at him in surprise, then Nathaniel and Zane began to whimper. Finally I smelled what they did. Under the blood and gore lay the smell of pack and the sweet scent that was wholly Jason.

I felt my knees weaken and Micah was suddenly holding me up. If it were not for my beast I would never have known it was Jason. His body was one large open sore and his face had been
sliced to shreds. His hair was so full of blood that you couldn't tell the original color. Blueskye placed her hand on his ravaged chest and we watched in silence as she healed his wounds. When he was healed and whole we saw that his skin was unmarked by scaring. There was no outward sign to show what he had suffered. However inwardly he was more damaged than I could ever know.

When she sank back away from him Damien swept him up in his arms. Crooning and murmuring soft words of love and devotion. "He will sleep until tomorrow night. I put him under deeply." She then turned to look at us. There was sorrow and fatigue in her eyes. When she looked at Richard and the other two wolves her eyes hardened. "You are a jealous fool Richard Zeeman." She said coldly.

I gulped.

She stood and walked over to Damien. "I am going to take them back to your home and ward it so that the lovers will be safe from harm. Azriel will not be able to enter your house or harm anyone within the walls. I will return shortly. Do not go anywhere, you will not like it if I have to hunt you down."

The last part was aimed at Richard. She glared at him one final time and then disappeared.
