Inflections I (1/1) by banlu Title: Inflections I Author: banlu Email: banlutoo@yahoo.com Archive: *DO NOT ARCHIVE* to ephemeral, Gossamer; Already there. Anyone else, please ask. I like to know it's gone to a nice home. Rating: G Category: V/A Spoilers: None Keywords: Mulder/Scully Summary: The sound of her voice... Comments: We've heard Scully say Mulder's name so many ways, I just thought I'd put some of them in one place. I've written a companion piece, "Inflections II". I'd prefer them to be read in order, but they each can stand alone. Disclaimer: No matter how hard I wish, they still aren't mine. Thanks: To mimic, who has helped me take the step from reader to writer. Date written: September 2001, revised June 2002 Inflections I by banlu "Mulder." A declaration of her arrival. "Mulder." Slightly higher on the end now, a cross between an announcement of her presence and a query as to his location. "Mulder?" This time more question than statement. "Mulder?" A little louder, the word drawn out in a definite question. "Mulder?" Now a sing-song calling of his name while she moved through his apartment. "Mulder?" A bit of puzzlement as she entered the empty bedroom. "Mulder." Back to a statement, with a bit of exasperation thrown in. "Mulder." Short and quick, with a touch of anger. "Mulder?" Anxiousness, in response to a sound from his closet. "Mulder!" Surprise and fear at the sight of his slumped form on the closet floor. "Mulder!" Sharp with worry while her hands searched his body for injuries. "Mulder?" A plea for his response. "Mulder." Despair dropped the last syllable, while her hand stroked his hair. "Mulder?" Hopefulness when his eyes opened. "Mulder?" An "are-you-ok" concern behind his name. "Mulder." A sigh of relief as he nodded his head. "Mulder." The voice of love. end Feedback: banlutoo@yahoo.com The conceited part of me wants it, the humble part doesn't, and the insecure part fears it. What kind of answer you'll get depends on which part of me reads it. So send at your own risk.
