Out of the blue sky comes
Silver hate on steel wings
An arrow gracefully swooping
Into the heart and soul of America

Hot, red and furious burns the fire
Black the billowing smoke
Under the rain of shattered lives
The world screams, frozen

Eyes watch in abject horror
The twin towers, proud and majestic
Crumble into dust and smoke
Hope extinguished lies in rubble and grime

Out of the clear blue sky
Came hate, unknown and unheeded
An arrow, aimed true and deadly
Against the soul and heart of America

Today we mourn and search for the dead
Tomorrow we will pick up torn lives and carry on
In the clear blue skies where the twin towers are no more
Lies the void in our hearts that will nevermore be filled
