Insufficiency

Touches
fleeting, like butterflies,
here, then gone --
lingering, like shadows,
on my skin a hint
of
warmth
here, yet not --

Not Enough.

o god not enough not enough not enough
Smiles
warm, like sunshine,
there, then gone --
falling, like raindrops,
into my soul a taste
of
affection
there, yet not --

Not Enough.

o please give me more give me more give me more
Moments
tender, like heaven,
blink, and they're gone --
cutting, like sharp blades,
onto my heart a mark
of
possession
claimed, yet not --

Not Enough.

not nearly enough

Immersion

Hands
flashing whirling fluttering slicing jabbing
motion constant resting never
Eyes
pleading cajoling adoring trusting teasing
a gaze so steady shifting never
Voice
sweeping pulling prodding maddening caressing
torrent quiet flowing ever

Powerless I follow
Heedless I fall
Defenseless I lie

Hair
glinting sparkling twisting brushing swirling
mass undocile wafting ever
Lips
pouting luring frowning opening moving
softness unmeasured crushing never
Heart
burning leaping raging weeping giving
open wide and faltering never

Unresisting I yield
Witless I am led
Helpless I love

Light
gentling fleeting swathing warming blinding
calling ever
