RATchat

You will need to have an IRC chat program to join the chat. mIRC is one of the most common and you can download free it at http://www.mirc.com.

Install the program and launch it.

An 'mIRC Options' window will open. If it doesn't, click on the 2nd icon from the left. It looks like 3 horizontal lines.

Across the top are 'Add' 'Edit' 'Delete' and 'Sort' buttons.

Click on 'Add'.

• In 'Description' type 'Galaxynet'.
• In 'IRC Server' type 'galaxynet.org'.
• Leave 'Port' as is. It will probably have '6667'.
• Click 'Add'.

You will now be back in the 'mIRC Options' window.

• Type in a name or pseudonym and the email address you don't mind people knowing.
• Then type in your nickname and an alternative in case your nic is already in use.
• Click 'Connect to IRC server!'

The 'Channels Folder' window should automatically pop up. If it doesn't, click on the yellow folder icon with the # at the top of the screen.

Enter #RATchat for the channel you want to join. You can click on 'Add' to have it permanently added to your channels list. Then click on 'Join'.

There are other IRC programs out there that can be used to join the chat. I am not familiar with them but, if someone is, please send instructions to the list in case someone out there uses your format.

Any webtv users can join the chats as well. Please send a messege to the list if you need webtv instruction. I will try to remember how it works.
