Story Notes: In addition to the warnings listed below, you will also find attempted suicide and graphic flashbacks of torture from "Paid in Full." (These scenes were edited slightly to fit this story. They are intensely graphic in nature, including references to castration and other sexual mutilations.) This story is extremely intense and focuses on Blair's
psychological suffering and recovery in the wake of Bloomfield's escape from prison. CAVEAT LECTOR -- let the reader beware. As with "Paid in Full", I was very reluctant to put this story on the archives. PiF has already generated negative feedback, which I feared might happen if I made the stories public. However, I believe that there *is* an audience for this
type of story, and it's more likely to reach that audience here. Do not mistake this for a change in the direction of my writing. For this series, and this level of graphic pain, I this is *it*. No more. Yes, some of my stories will still contain angst and h/c, but the focus is *always* on the love of Jim and Blair, the comfort, and the triumph of that love over all odds, even in this very dark story.
If you do not wish to read this story, I respect that and understand it completely. This is a very dark and violent story (in the flashbacks), despite the heavy doses of comfort, support and love from Jim. However, if you choose not to read, I'd rather not hear about it. The warnings are here so that you won't be surprised/shocked by the story content. I think everyone should have the right to make these decisions before being blindsided by a story that might give them nightmares. If you choose the read the story, I welcome *constructive* feedback.
