Work Text:

Every year, I would watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day
Parade on the TV set and wait for the shoe to drop in one way
Or another before we go spend the holiday with my grandmother.

And even though it looked like a balloon would suffer a loose stitch
And crash to the ground, the whole thing went off without a hitch.

But if you were to stop planning your turkey dinner and ask me,
I really do believe that it would be impossible for me to see
How they would still keep it up one year after another.
