7 Days Y2K survival Kit

Summary:

Just a bit of fun.

Work Text:

7 Days Y2K survival Kit
by David Lee Rickman II

Tic, toc...Tic, toc. Time is running out! You should be prepared by now to survive with food and water, but are you as a faithful 7 Dazer prepared to continue watching the show from your basement bunker like I am?

Here are some of the essentials:

If you do not have a portable TV, get one! Some regions may have power blackouts, so UPN may still be broad- casting in a region that has power but you don't. Get batteries for portable TV.

Some web servers may crash temporarily or permanently lose data. Save all important web information. Save web pages, graphics, show listing, letters you wrote while stalking cast members, ect. Save this in a Y2K-compliant computer AND computer disks. Keep disks in static-proof bags and placed in fire-proof box. It might be wise to make several copies of the same disks and place them in different locations (in case your home is destroyed in the riots of post-Y2K).

If possible, make paper printouts of all information you saved, just in case.

In case your VCR doesn't work, save the audio portion of each episode on audio tapes. Tapes and tape recorders are cheap and battery operated.

In case UPN goes way of the dotto bird, there is a chance if you live in southern California. I will be broadcasting the audio portion of my favorite episodes twice a week from a pirate 5 watt FM transmitter. (Dear F.C.C. I want to remind you its not illegal to OWN a pirate transmitter as long as I haven't used in yet).

I hope these hints help. My VCR isn't Y2K complient, but I am going to watch my favorite movie, "1901: A Space Odyssey."

Sincerely,
David Lee Rickman II
