Jack O'Neill knew he'd made a fatal error.
They knew it too. They were on him in seconds, like sharks in a feeding frenzy.
Jack knew what he had to do, no point in delaying the inevitable.
He caved.
"OK, OK! You can all have one more piece of cake."
The pack of five-year-olds jumped up whooping and ran into the kitchen.
Sara came out of the kitchen smiling, just as Jack got to his feet. "I knew you'd cave."
"It was twelve on one, I was outnumbered!"
He heard a muttered 'boys' as Sara walked back into the kitchen.
