Echoes
I stare at my child as he stands before me anger in every line of his body. Where has the time gone who is this angry Youngman? Where has my sweet baby gone? I reach out to touch the child I remember; but all that's left is the memory but he's not here anymore…
"Mom!
"Mom!"
"Mom? Are you even listening to me? Why do I even try with you?"
My baby's face contorted with frustrated anger suddenly lost its anger as he continued to stare at me captured unwilling ensnared.
I sit frozen unable to reach out but I wanted to… oh how I want to- Instead I watch trapped, frozen as a glacier. A single tear sparkles in the early morning light, trailing down a pale cheek and with a flash of deep blue eyes my baby's gone.
Released.
I hear the door slam and I wonder if my son has finally left me too?
What is it about me that makes me hurt those I love?
Why the hell do I do it?
I slump in my seat until the tears flowing down my face soak the collar of my blouse and it hangs wet heavy and misshapen. ...like everything else in my life
