There are so many ways to love a man. Nick knows this to
be a fact because he has learned it by loving Gil. In the be-
ginning, he was not aware of all the ways, but with Gil's patience
and understanding, and quite a bit of giving and taking on his part,
Nick was well-versed on the subject.
It wasn't all physical either.There were emotional was as well.
Those ways were the hardest lessons to learn. The nights spent crying
over silly arguments, hoping that he hadn't pushed Gil away, to the argu-
ments and the stubborness on both parts, to the pride of not wanting
to admit one or the other was wrong.
Then learning how to give in, or at least compromise when
necessary, to finally hitting his stride in learning how to balance
all of these things and trust that Gil will do right by him. But that
was one of the many things Nick loved about Gil. His ability to forgive
and let Nick see the error of his ways without saying "I told you so!"
and still be there for Nick.
Yes, Nick Stokes knew he had a good thing with Gil. That's
why he was such an apt pupil in learning about all the ways to love a man.
He wanted to keep feeling the ways Gil never failed to make him feel:
Wanted, cherished, and most importantly, Loved.
