Seven men snapped to attention at a shriek. They grimaced as a man limped away holding his privates. A dark-haired woman hid her knife in a flash of silver. "Ouch!"
"Oh . . . mah . . . "
"Shouldn't we do something?!"
"I wouldn't get involved with that, Kid. I've seen how he treats the women. Dunno who she is, but she gave him what he deserves."
"What a woman!"
"Nah," Vin drawled with a twinkle in his eyes as he recalled a conversation he'd had with Faith. "What a bitch, and she's proud o' it too!" He chuckled at his friends' shocked expressions.
